I think it can take them up to 12 weeks to sort it out and you will probably get a bill, have they not asked for a p60 for the last three years? If your husband is earning a lot more it could be quite a lot.Sent you a pm by the way.
  • They asked for the last 2 years pay 60.
The claim started on Sept 2011.
I sent a photocopy of the P60 and haven't heard from them yet.
I don't know if the 12 week waiting is good news or bad news tbh...
  • I haven't heard from them yet.
Maybe they won't ask for any overpayment? Maybe they just ended the claim?
    Should I call and ask?

You can ring & ask for a progress report. If there is an overpayment it will be calculated
  • Thanks.
Wasn't expecting it to take so long though...

How did you do your tax return with out up to date accounts. Or haven't you. Government departments are now all linked up so if you submit your accounts to hb chances are that hmrc will get them.

HB Departments would only share someones self employed accounts if they suspect tax evasion.
These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.

which if shes got her accountant to go over the last 2 or 3 years tax accounts surely that would be a red flag as the figures submitted would be different.
  • I got my accountant to put my affair in order. And I sent all of my accountant's paperwork to HB.
    It is all clear now.
  • Is it possible, should I apply for a fresh HB claim providing we will be on top of all changes and give accurate info?
