why is everyone going on about my bank status, i said please do not go on about it.

My main question is what companies offer payment options that are NOT Direct Debit, lets keep to the subject in hand and not get sidetracked into my personal financial banking facilities.

Unless that's the company that you are losing. .

That is who I was with and had no problems with them at all until they notified me a few days ago.Plus their prices was very competitive and no high fees.

Why? Because that is the root of your problems, can't you see that?

BTW I've had a quick search and can find no information about Ecar Insurance going out of business, have you got a link?

So they are still accepting new business via the website but they are closing down? Something wrong there.
  • You could get an Orange Cash prepaid MasterCard.

    http://cash.orange.co.uk/

Costs £5 to get the card, but there's no monthly fee, you can top it up at Orange shops for no charge, and there's no transaction fee.

If you do find an insurer that accepts the payment method, make sure to look at their U/W criteria and make sure that you meet it.

Because it's why you started the thread.

Sorry if you don't like it, but the fact that you can't/won't do DD is extremely germaine. Others say that there are various ways around lack of DD on your bank account. Yes, there's an admin fee. But balance that admin fee against the increased premium you'll be paying for your insurance if you're so badly restricted to "specialist" poor-credit insurers. Bet you'll be quids in at the end of the day.

Surely the most important factor to retain sight of is how much leaves your pocket every month?

£5? They even have a credit builder option where they report a £59.88 loan to CRAs and mark each payment of £4.99 as successful throughout the yearffffffffffffffffffffffff

You might want to reconsider CashPlus, years ago I had a CashPlus card for internet use, but allowed it to lapse one year as internet security had improved and I felt more comfortable using my normal cards.

I received an email from them recently, and it refers to a Freedom Current account with no monthly charge or charges for DDs. Strangely I can't see it in their website, so perhaps it's by invitation only (which would be strange, I haven't been a customer for around 6-7 years). You might want to contact them and ask.

Indeed. One suspects that there is more to this story than is being let on.

And in cases where the insurer does fail, doesn't the FCA step in and underwrite existing policies for their duration? I'm sure something to that effect happened when Quinn Direct failed a few years back.
