Paying Car Insurance not by DD???

This is a rather urgent request.

Dos anyone know of any car insurance companies that allow you to pay by worldpay or other payment means that is NOT direct debit?

My current insurer is going out of business and have until 10th April to find another. I was on a pay monthly policity (NOT Black Box) that allowed me to pay by worldpay.

I do not have a bank account that had DD facilities and cannot get a normal bank account (please do not challenge me on this, I only have a post office account) and unable to pay a one off payment as I do not have that kinda money.

There must be companies out there that allow payments by non DD so this is why I am reaching out to you as someone may know,

No bread? Let them eat cake.

Seriously OP, do you have a friend or relative that could set up the DD for you and you give them the money each month?

You're probably better going into an inurance brokers who will have specialist knowledge of all the companies and are most likely to have faced this problem before.

I know you said not to mention it, but Barclays have a cash card account which even bankrupts are accepted. It has this facility.
    As does cashplus.

Look at it from the insurers point of view. They're giving you credit over a year for the full year's premium, payable monthly. They want to ensure that you're going to pay them. So they want a good secure idiot-proof method of payment, and they want to ensure you have a decent enough credit rating.

I'm going to suspect that the reason you have a basic PO account is that your credit rating is not the greatest. I don't know how WorldPay or similar work for ongoing payments, but I suspect it's not as foolproof as DD. I'm also going to suspect that your premium is relatively high.

With those circumstances in mind, would YOU lend you the price of a year's insurance...?

There's probably a very good reason your old insurer's going under, and it's probably not unrelated to their costs of payment processing and the level of bad debts. If any insurer does offer such a service, they will be raising their prices so as to cover those.

Even a freshly declared bankrupt can get a basic bank account with DD facility but no overdraft.

If you check the OP's posting history you will see they have purportedly been in this predicament since at least 2009! Last year it was a problem with cashing a HMRC tax refund cheque, this year car insurance.

    A less judgmental answer..
I believe these accept world pay..http://www.ecarinsurance.co.uk/about.php
Unless that's the company that you are losing. If so sorry.
I think Swinton still do the pay at the office deals if you have a local branch.
Failing that go and have a chat with a broker...
