HELP - BT broadband Order FRUSTRATION

Hi,

I have a new build which i placed an order with bt back in early November for a new telephone line and standard broadband connection. I live in a pretty rural area of Northern Ireland so realised it could be mid January before work got completed.

its now nearing end of March and have just received phone calls on fortnightly basis from there call centres saying sorry for delay and blaming cabling work and then promising it will be completed for different date which never happens.

As i desperately need broadband for my work, im considering telling them to stuff the order and get satellite broadband as im only going to be getting 1-2mbs with them and frankly their service hasnt exactly impressed me.

has anyone experienced similar or any advice on what to do or someone to contact that actually will get something done. Is openreach to blame or is this just typical BT.

Help and guidance greatly appreciated

If it genuinely is cabling then it will be openreach so as far as a landline goes you will be in the same situation whoever you use. You shouldnt be billed until the service starts and you are entitled to cancel and get satellite if you want.

Openreach are in a world of their own so whenever BT tell you it will be done by .......... then they are talking through their butts since they cant hurry it up and have no idea when openreach will complete the work.

Openreach doesn't exist in Northern Ireland so you can't blame them!
  • They had to put a pole up which was done before Christmas and I have left the cable coming from my house to the pole for them back in November so it should just be matter of them connecting it I would have thought, i was patient but now near April and I have nothing and on the days they said engineers would be out, no one has ever appeared.

Is it KN network who do the work in northern Ireland if its not openreach. Really does put you off using them as you never seem to be able to get through to an English/Scottish call centre and know one seems to have a clue.
