Why not? What the hell has it got to do with them? If I drive away having left my credit card in the shop, why should I pay £100 to get it back?
If I buy a dozen eggs in Lidl and drop them in my kitchen why won't they let me go back for more?
Does anyone else think that this is an unfair term?.

You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

It's exactly the same as all their other terms - unenforceable.0

I think a lot of the terms are unfair, leaving site, the 2 hour no return rule , issues over not having a wheel over a white lines , giving BB holders tickets just because they have not "registered" at the reception , trying to enforce bylaws on private roads using parking tickets , they are much too fussy in their pursuit of profit and I believe they break the unfair terms contract laws on a daily basis, never mind the equality act 2010 as well
so yes I think its unfair as they should not be allowed to impose conditions on our "going about our business"
100% agree with post #1 , also with the other terms I mentioned, maybe other terms I did not mention too
they should stick to doing the job they were employed to do , parking duties0 -
I think the point is that otherwise it would be impossible to police.
E.g. if you aren't allowed to park for more than two hours at a time.
You get there at 9am and leave at 10am then return at 11am and stay until noon.
They patrol the car park roughly every hour.
Their patrols spot you at 9:01, 9:59, 11:01 and 11:59.
It looks very much to them like you were there from 9:01 until 11:59 and have overstayed.0 -
What about where a car is used by more than one person? You could have motorist A use that car park and then unbeknown to them motorist B goes back to the car park within those "banned" hours. Who has broken the PPC's rules - motorist A or motorist B?What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Neither. The car broke the rules and should have a court claim served on it!Je suis Charlie.0 -
Where's the loss in this scenario ? If you are going back there's a more than fair chance it's to spend more money. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

Do councils use similar restrictions at the side of the road? I think they do, but I may have been fooled into thinking such signs were official when they weren't.0

The difference is that councils issue penalties that they are allowed to do, so it's not about loss for them. And not about profit either - honestlyWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

I picked up a courtesy car on Tuesday evening and needed to get some stuff on the way back. The obvious place to stop was a nearby Tossco, but they use Highview's anpr and the car may have been there previously that day. So two fingers to Tossco and their scummy mates, I took my business elsewhere.0

Its all about impersonating authority and made up rules so that they can maximise profits.
There wouldnt be anything t stop a PC colour coding a car park so that geen cars are only permitted in green bays, blue in blue and red in red, otherwise you contractually agree to pay a parking charge of £100 reduced to £60 for early payment, and if the ppc employee decides your red car is maroon, or magenta then that will be £100 please, and to hell with those who may be coloublind. From the Plain Language Commission:
