Just asked my daughter, apparently my 10 year old nephew likes Bakugan. Just looked it up on Amazon but wouldnt know where to start, what he's got etc!“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

I would agree that the Advent calender would probably go down well but only if you give it before christmas. My 10 year old son still loves lego, alternatively I would agree that the GAME or GAMESTATION vouchers would probably also go down well.0

No it's not for a Christmas present. Last year I made their Mum a "5 minutes peace" box which contained lots of little bits to keep the children occupied so she could get on with chores/ xmas wrapping/ put her feet up etc in the run up to Christmas. She is always very busy so will be manic in December with the added xmas prep!
So the gifts would be given on Dec 1st
Thanks to everyone who has replied, I didn't realise lego would be such a contentious issue! It sounds like it depends very much on the child, as some would enjoy the advent calendar and others would have grown out of it. Think I may just have to ask him- will take away the surprise but at least I will get something he will enjoyIs this for a Christmas present, or will he be getting it before Dec 1st seeing as it's an advent calendar?0 -
I like the idea of a peace box - I wish someone would've done that for my kids lol
Just thinking about it, my son was still 10 last Christmas and his main present was the big Lego Space Shuttle, we'd seen it in Florida but it was too heavy to bring back - he and I had so much fun building it!!

What do you know about this lad? Is he sporty, is he a bookworm, game fanatic, skateboarder? What's your budget?
I know my 10 year old nephew who is a sporty footy crazed skateboarder also loves random gifts like a box of magic tricks or those science museum kit or puzzle type things. You can get those for about £10.0
