  • My ds is 10 and we have no idea what to get him! I'd say lego is fine for a 10 year old. How about an itunes voucher? Can get them from Birthdays, Tesco, co-op, then he can get his own apps with that.

According to my DD(9) hexbugs are a good thing for boys and girls. You can get them for about £11. Think they may be good for grown men aswell as my DH has insisted I get him one for christmas. lol

    1 x 10 year old + 1 x Lego Advent calendar = 1 very happy child

My ten year old has just bought one from his savings and is itching to start opening it. Don't return it. It will probably be one of the best presents he gets.

I have a 9 year old boy and he likes Lego (he would be made up with a Lego advent calender)

How about some of the technic Lego? The age range for those is something like 9-16, if he likes gadgets, then he might like this? My son doesn't have any yet, but I thought about getting him a small starter set for Xmas and his Dad can help.

Is he into football? my son loves football, so anything with his favourite team on is a winner with him.

  • I have bought Lego for both my 14 year old nephew and ... his 24 year old brother. They love it! My older nephew wants enough lego to brick up one of the doorways in his house ... for reasons beyond me. :rotfl:

Is this for a Christmas present, or will he be getting it before Dec 1st seeing as it's an advent calendar?

My son outgrew lego when he was around 9.5 just as he was given some k'nex instead, which I think lends itself to better building options.

Mine also likes science type gifts. Science museum does a lot of different items and price ranges.
  • My daughter will be ten and a half at Christmas and would adore a Lego advent calendar.

My 3 sons loved lego until they were at least 13 (and discovered Games Workshop ) my 9 year old daughter happy with lego but Moshi Monsters are the real deal lol, popular with her and all her 9 and 10 year old friends, boys and girls.

  • I still love lego, and I am 20(with some years experience ;) ) I would say still give him the advent calender, and then maybe a voucher for Game or somewhere like HMV.
