In post 1 of the Newbies sticky thread there is advice on how to prepare your defence, including a very good ebook on the subject, it costs a couple of quid but is cheaper than paying the amount claimed. The first thing to do is to acknowledge service of the claim. This can be done online. This then gives you 28 days (from the date of the issue of the claim form) to prepare and submit the defence rather than 14. You should be able to acknowledge online, instructions should be in the paperwork from the court.0

Wait, what letter have you sent to ParkingEye? One acknowledging receipt of the claim or one acknowledging the receipt of a letter before claim?0

We read constantly of PE court fiascos, just google "Parking Eye lose in Court".You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

hi went on the money claim website and acknowledged that I was disputing the fine etc so I had 28 days I then sent sent private eye a letter saying I was disputing the fine for varies reasons it is the standard letter I have seen knocking about on the forum the one that says you believe the amount of money being claimed is not a true pre estimate of loss etc have I jumped the gun abit here0

It probably won't hurt. Time to start drafting your defence.0

Thank god for that started to panic then lol0

If you have a court claim you must only deal directly with the court, the other side must not be trusted at any point, fail to do this and you will get a CCJ.
I suggest you download the Parking pranksters guide, it costs the same as a cup of coffee and he has put extensive amounts of time and effort to fine tune it and get all the right info in one place in an easy to follow guide how to defend and prepare your defence.
I am not affiliated in any way with him, in fact I do not think he has much time for me, but his guide is the best I have seen and has produce fruit.
The ONLY letter you should send parking eye is a Letter requesting they deal with the dispute by Alternative Dispute resolution.
Send this and obtain a certificate of postage which is free, do not write anything silly like without Prejudice on it, the point of sending it is to prejudice the case against you by making them refuse an offer to ADR.Be happy...;)0 -
Have you actually sent the letter to the parking company? If you haven't then I wouldn't. As spacey said, the court should be your first port of call and they will keep the other side notified of what is going on.0
