Just got an e-mail from My Hermes announcing that from 26th March you can send a parcel with them that weighs under 1KG for £2.78 if you drop it off at a parcel shop. Or £2.98 if you have it collected from home. With Royal Mail charging £3.70 (and even more next month) for a small parcel 2nd class recorded, this seems a good deal for cheap fully tracked postage.
I know some people have had problems with receiving parcels from My Hermes but I send 25 or so parcels a week with them and few problems they have sorted straight away. Will be using them for all my all parcels from 26th March and Royal Mail will just be getting the items that can go as large letters.0 -

Good news indeed. I send a lot of sub 1kg parcels bigger than the small parcel size that cost £6.30 each. That is going to be a bit of a saving so I'll have to give them another chance0

AND £50 compensation for lost items instead of Royal Mails £20.
It looks a killer deal and will attract huge volumes of light large items.0 -
Doing the happydance right here right now & the devil take anyone gawking!0

It's good news, & great that there is competition between them both to keep prices down. What annoys me most with Royal Mail is all the size limits, you can spend so much time checking and repacking things to make sure you get the cheapest rate, spent ages today cutting down a box as it was 2mm wider than the small parcels limit! It is lovely with Hermes not worrying about the size and shape of the box, and never a queue at the Parcelshop if you drop them off. (And no questions about what is in it, that is getting annoying now).0

RM Account holders can send a max 2kg parcel for £2.20 provided they can get the AVERAGE weight down to 1kg(-) of all the parcels.0

But to compare like for like, you need to tell us what the price will be after 1 April and whether you need to add VAT to that (and fuel surcharge right?)RM Account holders can send a max 2kg parcel for £2.20 provided they can get the AVERAGE weight down to 1kg(-) of all the parcels.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. I use MyHermes a couple of times a month with no problems.
And with RM going up ~6% and Hermes coming down ~4%, it's a no brainer.0
