Proof of ownership for insurance claim
Hi my father has to make a claim for his old iPhone 3GS which he lost yesterday, now he has been told he needs proof of ownership even though the imie number has been registered with the insurance company for the last few years, he can't remember which sim was in it as it was unlocked and they kept changing sims if a deal came up, this was only used very little as it was kept on a boat and mainly used as an iPod for the music and was bought used with no receipt.
So anything that he could do ?
Thanks

Cancel the claim? I'm not sure why it matters what sim was in it, but I suppose as a hoarder I would still have that info years later.
Anyways, you would imagine an old 3gs wouldn't be worth insuring as such, as the premiums may cost more than a replacement handset especially once the excess is considered.0 -
depending on insurance companies some will only do a claim for the original owner,
they will want a original receipt with the imei on in your dads name, I don't think there is a lot you can do tbh and might just be a case of taking the loss.
sorry I know its not what you want to hear0
