there isn't much on the forum regarding motorcycles, or motorbikes as I say. this was a complete wreck when I got it, having had 16 former keepers, I did buy a barn find for spares which was a good investment. ive had it about 3.5 years and its been stripped to its component parts, degreased, sanded down re-sprayed each piece, reassembled using new bearings gaskets as required, and then had a pro paint job on the panels that specialise in restoration vehicles, (not a single flaw in the job they did). the engine has also been stripped and overhauled. it runs mint (no pun on the colour):rotfl:. ive also got a gpx750 that's had the same, and a cbr1000.

it was red when I got it top half with a metallic grey underneath, and the silver/aluminium strip inbetween, it was the original paint but was damaged to much. the rear under seat mud guard was a cut down plastic 5litre container.:rotfl:

I cant find any photos of the strip down, they must be on the old hard drive, ive got it out of the laptop now and just ordered a all in 1 hard-drive docking thingy. but ill start as far back as I can to show the build.

Nothing to add but well done for keeping the old bikes alive. I have a 1997 Virago which is my 'daily ride', a 1999 Vespa ET4 which was is fully overhauled and is immaculate (pm if you want to buy it) and a 1986 Honda CBR 400R, which work in progress

    Well done biker friend :)

many thanks, theres not much biker stuff on here so ill keep posting bits to keep the dream alive:rotfl: shame most of the stuff is on another hard drive, but should have it soon, if it still works.

ive got 2 other projects to start a 1997 gpz750 or a 1981 cx500 so no money for another.

I think it will be the gpz750 as the 500 is just a pipe dream from years gone by and will be too small for me once done, but I got it for not much £ from a vicar in Coventry.

post a pic of the vespa someone ay be interested in buying.

    regards:beer:
  • Had pics up of my 1981 GSX750 on a recent thread. I was going to buy something else but decided just to put it back on the road. Not got round to it yet tho.

I've bought a couple of CZ's in the past but sold them on to enthusiasts and also got my hands on a 1969 Honda 250 K0 that I'd like to think went to someone that's got it on the road again by now.

I've a wee hankering to try a diesel bike too, see if it'll run on biodiesel.
