PE -Letter before count court claim, but I have a prepaid permit.

Hi all,

I really hope someone can help, I have received a letter today from PE for parking at my local hospital where I work and have a prepaid parking permit. The letter is a "letter before county court claim" stating that if I don't pay£70 in the next 14 days they WILL take further action I.e. Court proceedings.

I previously read other threads stating to ignore all correspondence from private parking companies but after research tonight I find that I have been mislead/reading old posts :(.

Please can someone help in what my next step should be? Should I just pay up?

Does the letter actually say Letter Before County Court ?
or is that threat just in the wording?

EDIT Sorry just realised you have already answered that question in your post

Thanks, I fully intend to speak to the trust, do I need to tell PE my intention to do this? I'm worried about the 14 day deadline. I've already had one charge notice cancelled by PE due to my permit but I forgot about this one until after the initial reduction period then ignored the rest of the letters -stupid I know.

The LBCCC threads already linked, tell you how to formally respond. They were at the top of the forum in the 'parking forum stickies' all along, and it's always best to read such info first. You would never have said 'shall I just pay up' or read OLD advice in the first place, if only you'd gone to page one of the forum and read the sticky threads at the top, as a first step.

So use them now. That's what the LBCCC thread is all about.
