hi, I have room for one growbag!
would like some green beans and some sweet peas.
1. can they grow in same bag?
2.how many of each shall I plant? do I get them to seedling stage indoors first?
3.what do I use to make them stand up? will canes etc go deep enough in a grow bag to support them?
thank in advance

In my experience peas and beans like a good depth of soil, not sure a grow bag would work that well for them. Could you fit a pot in instead to give more depth. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
actually that's a good idea, I never thought of a big pot! was just thinking I haven't any spare flower beds.
thanks for that, that'll solve the support question too.

Get the biggest pot you can, or make a frame with timber and fill that with soil.
remember green beans can be climbers or dwarf. So you could grow dwarf one in front of sweet peas or mix up sweetpeas and climbers at the back of the pot?If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
well, saw a clever idea today on here, - someone used a "bag for life" as a big planter, I have quite a few of those:)
I got some sweetpea seeds and dwarf beans so I'll do what RAS suggested, one in front of t'other.
thank you.LIVE SIMPLY * GIVE MORE * EXPECT LESS * BE THANKFUL0 -
I have grown climbing french beans in grow bags against a sunny wall for the past 15 years without any problems. Go for it. With just the one bag I would plant a front row of dwarf french beans about 4" apart with sweet peas behind trained up netting or canes. Feed regularly with liquid tomato feed throughout the season. If it doesn't work, so what? Gardening should be fun, try something else next year.0

i use the morrisons buckets for french beans - i bean in each and pop a cane in then tie as a wigwam. Works well for me. Morrions buckets i think are about 8 for 99p - they are what the fresh flowers comein0

That's a good idea, I'll look out for them. Just the thing for growing peppers in.0

Personally I would not grow the two together. Sweet peas are posionous so it wouldn't be good if you accidently picked sweet pea pods along with the beans.0

Wilkinsons sell 2 potato grow bags for £2.25 and they have a capacity of 42 litres, so could be useful for plants that require a deeper level of soil.Debt free except for this blooming mortgage!

why bother buying a bag? Simply plant straight into the compost bag
