Diesel Particulate Filter fault, who is responsible?

There is nothing wrong with 7000 miles per year. It is how it is driven that determines whether the DPF cleans itself regularly and correctly.
You could do 15000 miles per year but if you never go more than 40MPH and only use it for short runs then the results would be the same. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I bought a used c8 2 years ago and the dpf has failed on it.When I went to evans halshaw I said I needed a 7 seater and the only driving I did was to school and back and shopping. I was told the diesel c8 would be perfect for me. It wasn't till afterwards that I researched it(yes my own fault as I should have done this before) and realised it was no good as I never ever go on long journeys or on motorways. Now I'm stuck with the car until the finance is paid off.The car is still driveable-just has horrific mpg
I won't get a diesel again that's for sure.
