Another function of the thanks button is to see who agrees with whom, and this can cause friction between users.
But its not the thanks button that's been removed. You can still see who agrees with which point of view.
Most people (well, me) just want to be able to see, easily, if their post has helped or amused other posters.0 -
Please bring back the search function, it is too labourious to review all your posts to see which have been thanked.
I find on certain boards a thanks can often be followed up with a question, and this function makes it easier to find them and reply.
The only other way I can see is to subscribe to every thread I post on, surely that will eat up more resources when searching the data table.I have a cunning plan!

I miss it too. I often forget where I've been, and it's good to know if something I've said has been appreciated.
Often times I go on to read lots more posts and rejoin a rocking debate.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -

I know that. But the topic was touching on that aspect so ...Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
No feedback? Any mods/admins etc reading this?!
Time to start a high profile campaign!! High profile as in the occasional bump of this thread or a note in my sig!
Debt: a bloomin big mortgage
all posts are made for entertainment value only, nothing I say should be taken as making any sense and should really be ignored0 -

and there seem to be a few of them about
Having said that... I have a stupid question,
is it just me who cant copy and paste my replys in here any more?
i will try and explain,
quite often i will write out a reply to someone then thanks to having a crap PC it will go to an error page and i have to click back to get back to the reply to thread page... but of course everything ive written has vanished forever,
I used to 'copy' everything before i hit the post button just incase but for some reason now it wont let me,
i dont think its me as i can still do this on other websites (which i dont tend to have the same problems with 'page not found' errors anyway)
just me?0 -
Yup you are right, that has been taken from us as well.
I used to do that with really long posts just in case the website or my wireless connection glitched.
I also would like to have the thanked search back please. makes life so much easier.
If they really wanted to speed up the site they should invest in better servers.0 -

Have you tried highlighting the text and pressing Ctrl C instead?
This works for me.0 -
both functions are the same but its not saving it for a paste. So now writing long stuff in word and copy pasting that over.0
