Hi, Im new here so I don't know the answer but I'd like to know how to thank people who've given me good advice. It used to be a button at the bottom right hand ofthe message - is that right?
Any help on this would be appreciated.....:A0 -

The button is still there on the right hand side of other people's posts. Sometimes the site has little 'glitches' and it isn't always visible.
I find if you tick the 'keep me logged in' box when you log into to MSE, the thanks symbol always stays visible.0 -
What the OP means is the facility that was shown when you go in to user profile. There used to be a "thanked posts"clicky, just next the "find all posts" clicky. I has been removed, and I think it was to speed the site up but I might well be wrong about this.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0

I just posted the same Q in The Arms and was directed here. I think it is a really bad idea to get rid of this facility. Its good to know which of your posts have been appreciated0

I hope it's coming back. I used to find that feature really useful. Firstly, I do like to have a look at which of my posts have been thanked - making me more likely to return to the thread in question and contribute some more, as people were obviously appreciating what I had to say and might have asked me a question since I last read the thread.
Secondly, if I want to refer to a past post made by somebody specific it's often easier to find it in their Thanked posts than it is to use the search function.Operation Get in ShapeMURPHY'S NO MORE PIES CLUB MEMBER #1240 -
It's quite annoying. My thanks have just jumped up a bit and I'm wondering what I might have said that was so impressive!:smileyhea "here, hare, here" :smileyhea0

Yep pleeeease fix!!!!
Part of the fun of contributing is the whole thanks thing and that includes seeing who thanked us !
Dont spose anyone can dig an old URL out of their history and see if it still works? We might then be able to put in our own userid into the link and we can book mark it!
Bah im going to boycott the forum until its fixed. Im not really. But I will! (I wont ).
edit: gah my thanks has gone up by 2 and I dont know why !Debt: a bloomin big mortgage
all posts are made for entertainment value only, nothing I say should be taken as making any sense and should really be ignored0 -
Most of my own thanks come from saying "Hiya" in the arms, so although it's nice to be appreciated, I'am also aware that I don't really deserve them all.
Another function of the thanks button is to see who agrees with whom, and this can cause friction between users. :rolleyes:Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0
