Good luck on your 'quest'!
Totally know what you mean about feeling in limbo at the moment!
Hope you get more viewings - perhaps if it doesn't pick up, you could post the link and get some feedback? Have seen some great suggestions from people when properties haven't had many viewings.0 -
Hi ClareTeaches
I'm wary of doing that cos it would show people on here where I live, therefore taking anonymity away.0 -

You could always set up a new account on here purely for the purposes of getting the feedback on your house - have seen other people do that when they want to discuss something sensitive/personal which they don't want linked to their main account. Don't think it's against the rules, but I'm sure someone more knowledgeable would be able to confirm this.0 -
That's a good idea
I might just do that.

Be brave as people can be overly critical, cruel, or mention things you can't do anything about or are minor which wouldn't be putting off viewers. However if you list the actual rightmove link they may spot poor marketing by your agent, information missing which would entice viewers, and point out something in the photos that you can change that might be putting off potential buyers.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0

Bottled out of putting my house on here for comments. I've decided that after my 3 month contract with the agent expires, i'm going to change to the agent that sold me this house 3 years ago and sold my last house. Not as local as the one i'm with but I like the service. Should have gone with them anyway, but I went for local visibility and knowledge. My decision was made after I contacted the present agent and expressed my concern at the lack of contact from them...none to date unless i've contacted them or they've phoned to book a viewing. They close at 12 on a Saturday and not at all on a Sunday, so as all 3 viewers have requested to view on Saturdays, they have been escorted by me, when it should have been them!
Anyway, enough about all that. Decision is made and I feel a lot better about that.
No further viewings to report but i've potted up plants in the garden for colour and put a couple by the front door. Tht'll be good in the photo's when the new agent takes them

News update - I've accepted an offer on my house last Thursday. Even better is that the OH has accepted an offer on his too!! As if that's not good enough, neither buyer is in a chain. Wow!!! No idea how long it takes to get surveys etc sorted but the sold STC signs will go up when they're in motion.
We've seen 5 houses and made an offer on one that we're waiting for a response from. Fingers crossed it all progresses smoothly

And we've now found us a house to move to. Even better is that the offers been accepted. Spent 2 hours after work last night scanning in all the docs for the mortgage broker and filling in solicitors forms.
My buyer's surveyor is coming over on Monday afternoon so it's all moving forward. I've requested removal firm quotes as with potentially moving out of 2 houses on the same day, I'm not going to have OH and his brother able to help. Besides, I'm moving 28 miles away and with a small self drive van that's a lot of trips back and to!
I can't believe though how expensive it's going to be... with stamp duty, legal fees and estate agent fees it's around £14000, and that's NOT including my removal fees
I've no idea how much it costs so hopefully won't be too much of a shock

We moved finally!!!! It's a very long story but in a nutshell.... after losing my buyer cos he lost his and subsequently losing the original house we were after because of it, my buyer found another buyer and the move out was back on. We then found another (better) house and after a lot of legal wrangling and heartache (nearly had to go into storage over christmas!) we moved on 19th December. The house we bought had been on the market for 5 days and another family also offered the full asking price.
I've no idea if anyone still reads this thread but i've boxed it off cos we finally got the internet back up this week and I wanted to tie up the thread properly so to speak.
