Who's reponsible for my lost adsl connection?

Recently I had a problem with with my line (had no dial tone) so talktalk got the bt engineers to fix it, and they explained that the problem related to the exchange. So my phone works but now have got no adsl line on my router as it flashes. When I called back the engineers, they said that your phone is working so there shouldn't be a problem with your broadband.

I want to know that what they are saying is correct, Is the adsl line the same as my phone line? or are they two seperate lines?

If they fixed my phone line does this mean my adsl is also fixed as my router currently doesn't recognise the adsl line?

thanks

Theres only one line which both the telephony & broadband work on. If ADSL isnt working then contact your ADSL supplier who'll raise a fault issue with the service
