Is it not so that any one who pays by DD and there is to be a change in a DD amount have to be told beforehand?
When you get your final bill they tell you how much they will be collecting. So EE can only collect what's on that bill and you'd have a chance to cancel if you think it's too much.0 -
Many thanks everyone. I am going to switch . It makes sense to save money. When I last switched, EE were the cheapest, so I was surprised to see I could now make more savings.
There was another plan from EE that offered similar savings. I emailed them yesterday, to see if I could switch without exit fees. I did not hear anything. However after reading this thread, I think moving to another supplier would be wise.
Thanks to all once again0 -

I sent them both an email and a letter, waiting response. If it doesn't get resolved I will take it to the Energy ombudsman0

Update:-
An update on my previous posts....
Finished with EE at end of Nov. No Final Bill (see previous posts) Received phone call last Thursday saying that my final bill had been released from Germany & that they just needed to check it & that I would receive my final bill within 24 hours & any credit due.
Guess what today is Thursday a week later & still nothing. I phoned yesterday again to be told that the advisor dealing with my complaint had left the office for the day.
This Company should be looked into .
I have never received a bill & now struggling to get a Final Bill 3 months later. I am now awaiting a response from the Ombundsman.0 -
Well I've ceased to be an Extra Energy customer as my switch to Sainsburys completed today.
Might take some bets on when I will receive a final bill
Within 2 weeks: 100/1
2 - 4 weeks: 25/1
1 - 2 months: 20/1
2 - 3 months: 12/1
3 - 6 months: 4/1
6 - 12 months: 6/4
12 months or longer: Evens
I will never receive a final bill: 1/1000 -
I've been waiting over 40 workings days, assuming working days are Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays.
Personally, I think 32 days, i.e. more than 8 weeks, is excessive in any case.
I have today submitted my complaint to the ombudsman. I will point out I've never done anything like this before, I've never even written on a forum before. I've switched Gas & Electric a number of times with no problems whatsover except for my first switch which was from British Gas in pre-internet days. They too wouldn't pay me back my overpaid money. I've had nothing to do with BG since then.
Hi
Have you heard from Ombudsman? Got your final bill? I have waited over 8 weeks for my final bill, no joy. Have complained in writing to their complaint department. If it doesn't get resolved, I will take it to the ombudsman as well. Please let us know if you get results.0 -

I am awaiting my final bill but can not praise EE enough the billing manager has kept me informed all the step of the way and not with any kind of threats from me. I try to work with them rather than against them.0 -
Im taking the energy ombudsman route, they advised me to send letter(recorded)give them 10 days to reply,if nothing they will take it on for me,i feel that emailing rep on here and calling cs is acheiving nothing
Good luck, please let us know what happens. I haven't had any written response to my complaint (what a surprise!), the automated reply from complaints email promised to get back to me in 10 working days.

As we have already emailed our billing department requesting this information, I have now raised a formal complaint on your account. This will mean you will be assigned a complaint advisor who will push this request for you and finalise your account as quickly and efficiently as possible.
After 10 days I will take it to the ombudsman0 -
