Umm, no - it really is not. It's a part of life. Assuming you don't actually mean "all the time" - ie living there. Just visiting semi-regularly. If you're renting a room in the house from the LL, then "living there" would be an issue for the LL - who you've said doesn't object. If you're part of a group renting the entire property, then it's down to a vote amongst the group - and it seems clear that you'd be in a minority.

You're right, that isn't on - any more than you trying to prevent them from using the communal facilities would be. The communal facilities are communal, for everybody and their guests to share.

I, and some of my friends have been in situations where the GF never goes home and eventually "unofficially" moves in.

Who said I would stop couples using the communal areas? They are free to use them the same as the other tenants. They just can't constantly demand exclusive use of them the same as I couldn't.

GFs are throwing things, slamming doors, screaming, kicking, crying... and BFs? aggressive and abusive.

Call the police when this happens.

And move at your earliest opportunity.

I had two flatmates (I'll call them A and B) and all was well until A started seeing a total psycho !!!!!. It started off that she was there every weekend, which was fine. That went up to 5 or 6 times a week until eventually she stopped going back to wherever it was she'd been living before. The rent and bills were still only being split 3 ways and she made life horrible for me a B, especially B. It was deemed unreasonable for us to use the kitchen or livingroom when she wanted nights in with A. Apparently B and I should have gone out.

There was the night she decided to throw a party without asking anyone if it was ok and one of her guests stole my coat. Her guests went through the flat like a plague of locusts and did she clean the mess up. No!

We'd spoken to A about her being in the flat so often as 5/6 days a week was a bit much. It wouldn't have been so bad if she weren't such a cow. A was a big drip about it all though and did nothing. I had many rows with her, telling her to get out. In the end B and I ended the joint tenancy and found somewhere else to live, somewhere pleasant where A and Phsyco !!!!! were not :)

I've had the same situation happen to quite a few friends. In one instance two of my friend jointly owned a property and all was fine until one of them took up with a psycho !!!!! who eventually pushed out the other like a cuckoo despite the fact he part owned the flat.

the situation is that girls are staying/living here unofficially, they don't have the keys but they have they stuff in bathroom, and wardrobes in guys rooms, cooking, laundry, they come after work and leave for work in the morning, occasionally they stay at their own place.

I've been living in hostel, shared a room with friend, been lodger, and now for over 4y tenant. it is HMO we have separate paperwork.

So, rows apart, their presence is not an issue.

Rows apart, then, it's down to the landlord. And he's happy with it.

No different to any other noisy house-sharer or neighbour.
