flight from London has been changed to being from Amsterdam! HELP!!

Options
Hi,

We are due to fly to Bali for our honeymoon in July from Gatwick in London through Garuda Indonesia.

We have had an email today saying that the travel route has changed and that we are now flying from Amsterdam instead, as Gardua don't yet offer flights direct from the UK.

Where do we stand with this? Surely a travel company can't change the country that you are flying from without offering some sort of reimbursement, or at least offering to get us to Amsterdam?

We actually booked through Opodo, rather than direct with the airline.

Thanks,

michael

E mail back and say which LGW-AMS-CGK return flights suit your plans and ask to be put on those.

But you booked through Opodo, now owned by our Spanish friends E -Dreams (best not to Google them now, it is too late and this was supposed to be your honeymoon) Garuda haven't flown to the UK for a long time and 20 years ago their reputation wasn't the best, to be polite. They are supposed to be a 'new airline' now but their constant delay to the start of flights from LGW does not auger well.

Garuda is at least flying at the moment to AMS but not non stop so I would not be surprised at further flight time changes before you travel, so probably best to insist on being on the earliest flight available to AMS as the current departure time, lunchtime, may change again before your honeymoon. Garuda should be offering a free connecting flight but Opodo is not great at doing anything so you need to push them to act.
