I don't know another number, sorry.

My payment went in as normal today, not that I can spend any of it but at least it's there!

Thanks for responding. Glad yours went in today :-)

Maybe that will explain why I saw a young couple with a baby in a pram cursing and swearing at a Tesco cashpoint on Sunday night/Monday morning about 1am as I was filling up with derv. They were getting quite heated about something, thumping and banging the machine. Maybe their ESA or whatever was late in going in. Goodness knows why a young baby was out at that time of the night in any event and why it was so important to get money out.
Regardless of why a young child was out at this time of night I suggest you wind your neck in and continue filling your car with diesel. There's any number of reasons that they could be arguing at a cashpoint and I sincerely doubt that ESA is one of them.

Meant to be first payment of ESA in the bank today, and it isn't there. Very worrying. May I ask if anyone knows the best (cheapest) number to contact them on? There's a number on the letter, but it's an 0845 number.

    Thanks, Cat

Were you on IB previously, or is it a new claim? Only asking because I remember when I first applied for ESA, it did take a few weeks to get the payments regularly.

Thanks Indie Kid :-) Yes, I was on IB previously. Was first ESA, or possibly IB/ESA, payment that was due. Did you have to call them to get them manually sorted out? Glad yours sorted out. :-)

Thanks. :) No, I didn't have to phone them.

For a new claim, it can take a while to get on a regular payment cycle.

However, my ESA went in fine last Friday, so hopefully they have sorted out the problems.

Of course there are, but not having a benefit credited could well be one of the reasons.
Next time it happens, I will go over and ask them what the problem is and if it is benefit related I will suggest that they log onto this site and send you a PM for some specialist advice!

There is no need to be ill mannered and cheeky with another poster you know.
Oh please do, just for me! Imagine if the guy takes umbridge at your intervention. The stuff dreams are made of.
