Recouping money after split

I had an EX GF ask me to help her out with a loan....and then 2 weeks later decided that she didn`t want to see me again !!
It was a substantial amount, which she then claimed was a gift !!!
When I agreed to it being a loan, I made sure I had that fact in writing. She continued to claim it was a gift so I issued court proceedings, to which she was furious. It ended up with her repaying the loan ( while continuing to maintain it was a gift ) as well as the court costs.
It is sick what some people will try to do to people who genuinely put out the hand of "help", however it does appear that she is suffering from Narcissism, and ideas of grandeur.
"A strange world we live in at times" ....however I did learn many hard lessons from this person...and ultimately, that`s what life is !! Onwards and upwards !!
