Back in December 2013 I parked in a private car park for about an hour at 20:00. The car park is for a consultancy firm or something in the town centre. I figured with it being our of working hours it wouldn't be of any issue.
I received a letter in the post from VC and took it upon myself without looking into the company online at all, to appeal with my reasoning that if the local council only charge £30 for blocking a disabled spot, why do they think it's reasonable to charge £60 for me to not block or prevent anyone from using their car park?
They took their sweet time getting back to me on 03/03/14, long letter short, they disagree (obviously) and £60 isn't defined as excessive, only charged over £100 are supposedly deemed an excessive amount.
Due to various other job and finance related issues I've been putting off dealing with this PCN. Today is the last day I have the opportunity to pay the £60, after that it will become £100.
What do you kind people at MSE suggest I do?

I suggest you read this NEWBIES sticky thread you missed
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822
has everything you need to know within it, and is the latest advice
in their refusal should have been a popla verification code
use it
also look at this flow chart too

In their reply to you did they provide you with a POPLA code?0

Apologies for missing any information in that sticky, I gave it a read but I'm not the best at absorbing info from reading materials ^_^'
Yes they did provide a POPLA code.0 -
so draft a popla appeal up asap in notepad, then post it here for checking , minus any personal info
strange that you left out the most important point in your opening post (having a valid popla code)
check the popla code is valid on the parking cowboys checker, also check when it expires as your appeal has to be with popla before that expiry date0 -

Yes they did provide a POPLA code.
'How to win at POPLA' examples of winning words are in post #6 of the NEWBIES sticky thread.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
