They can ask for proof of the income interest generated from the savings as that counts towards you gross income for the year.
They can't demand that you tell them how much your savings capital itself is, and they can't count even a singe penny of that capital as income or demand any of it.Still rolling rolling rolling......<

So i should send them statements of my isa for the past 3 months showing the interest being paid, but censor the actual £14k in the ISA?0 -
Reading what you wrote again, what it seems they are fishing for is hoping that you are living in part off the lump sum of your savings, so they want to grab or bully you into giving up some of that?
If me I think I would reply saying that your earned income, benefits, whatever is all you are using as income to live on, and the only extra is a small amount of income from the interest on savings. Then provide proof of that blanking out anything that is not the interest income.Still rolling rolling rolling......<

Hi all, I attempted to defer using a letter and I've had a response today telling me that if I don't also sign and date their form that my loans will become payable and if I don't make repayments I'll go into arrears. I'm sending back a strongly worded letter because I do not believe signing a form of their choosing can be considered a condition of deferment and I do not believe they have grounds to refuse my deferment. But, I do feel a bit worried as much as it pains me to admit it. I genuinely don't have enough money to pay the loans back. Can they just take the money anyway?0

Nothing in the loan terms or the law says you have to sign their form to defer. Cheeky bstds.Still rolling rolling rolling......

Thanks rizla king. Yeah that's one of the many fruity phrases I said through gritted teeth while I was typing the complaint letter. Imagine them putting it in writing though?!0

- Admit that legally you do not have to use their forms in order to be eligible to defer. A letter with the required evidence is legally sound.
- Admit that it is not a legal condition of deferment that you have a direct debt it place. Nor is a breach of the agreement that entitles them to refuse deferment or call in the loan.
- Admit that a P60 is not required. 3 months wage slips is all is needed.
If the rep fails on ANY of those or tells the usual lies then we will know we won't be able to believe one word they say.

We are waiting Erudio. Do you have the guts to come clean?

Couldn't help but wonder, if Erudio are involved in these 'refunds', what their ulterior motive might be?

There is no ulterior motive.
Interest and charges were added to loans affected by that by the SLC when legally they should not have done so. It's just part of the transfer agreement with Erudio that the balances which HAD to be changed anyway were adjusted at that point.
Hence anyone affected got a goodbye letter from SLC telling them of the adjustment, and a hello letter from Erudio showing the actual new balances and the how much each balance had changed.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
