ERUDIO student loans help

That unfair scenario often rolls around in my head. How can it be that dishonest folk (with debts now statute barred) are home and dry, yet we who stuck to the path, ALWAYS notified of change of address, ALWAYS proved income and ALWAYS told the truth, are traversing choppy waters in a famously polluted creek, with no visible means of propulsion?
It beggars total and utter belief that the government set up such a ridiculous system that 15 or so years later, it totally shafts a sizeable chunk of those who DIDN'T break the rules!0 -
Well sent an email in may asking for original terms and conditions. Got an email yesrerdayvstatung they had to apply to sl to get them and they will follow up. This is all over they stated I wasn't allowed to change my dd date as it was in my terms. So hi Ho off to the fo I go again later. Sorry three months not to follow up a complaint is taking the weewee again. Sigh.ONE HOUSE , DS+ DD Missymoo Living a day at a time and getting through this mess you have created. One day life will have no choice but to be nice to me :rotfl:0

I'd alsonsay the unfair scenario of thwm including maintenance in the income calculation as this is not my money. Ex is refusing to pay it into kids accounts so I've once again going to go over the threshold because they will.include it.ONE HOUSE , DS+ DD Missymoo Living a day at a time and getting through this mess you have created. One day life will have no choice but to be nice to me :rotfl:0

8 weeks and no response to my complaint. A phone call to the FOS tomorrow methinks.
Don't hold out too much hope that FOS will be able to force Erudio to behave themselves....
My large print saga rolls on - I've given in & accepted the compensation FOS tell Erudio I should receive from them, although I wonder how long that will takeI'm completely stuck in that Erudio say they've sent large print statements & as I can't prove I haven't had them, then Erudio's word is good enough for FOS.
The real kick in the teeth is that even FOS, knowing large print documentation is vital to me, couldn't even manage to send me a letter in large print  Kind of sums it all up really, although I can't fault my adjudicator personally as she's been helpful & considerate & taken a lot of time to discuss things with me.
So I may as well get some money out of it, as it looks like I'll never get a statement in any format :rotfl:
Does anyone know if being deferred for 3 years means Erudio don't then have to send annual statements to me?
Since I haven't had a statement since Sept 13 (from the SLC) I'm not sure when my next one should be due. As Erudio acquired my loan in March 14 should this mean my statement date should change, or should they stick to the Sept date. In which case I'll probably be going through this whole charade at the end of next month when my next statement doesn't appear.I'd alsonsay the unfair scenario of thwm including maintenance in the income calculation as this is not my money. Ex is refusing to pay it into kids accounts so I've once again going to go over the threshold because they will.include it.
Don't think FOS will be able to do anything about this - my adjudicator & ombudsman both said Erudio were entitled to count child maintenance as income. It isn't discriminatory to us lone parents, even though the same money wouldn't be counted if their father & I were still together as he's earned it, not me. How that is fair I still don't know, but FOS don't comment on fairness
Dizzybuff, does your ex understand that its his kids that will lose out, not you? My ex was very cross about the unfairness of it all.And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...0 -
Still got loads of other things going on right now so haven't had much chance to check this thread out again.
But as I've got to deal with Erudio since deferment renewal is coming up, I'm forcing myself to set aside some time (and energy) to deal with the whole stressful situtation!
I've decided to try writing to my MP again. I have a new MP now and I've heard that this might be something he'd be interested in (I can only hope).
I'm not in the best of health at the moment so thinking clearly isn't that easy - so if anyone has any tips for what to include in the letter (I plan to refer him to this thread), I'd be really grateful.
I'm particularly keen to raise the CRA issue with him - and especially the bullying attempts to get people to sign their DAF.
No idea if my MP will do anything so in the meantime I guess I'm hoping I'll have the strength for a fight since I really don't want to sign anything that could give Erudio new permissions.
I'm wondering whether in law that counts as signing under duress? I'm not sure whether to sign but make it clear it is under duress or just not sign and be prepared for a fight....
Btw, totally agree with the comments about wishing I'd just defaulted years ago. Someone I was at university with did just that - she disappeared abroad for a few years travelling, never kept in contact with SLC, they didn't bother chasing her. And now she's statute barred. Only those of us who dutifully did the right thing who are suffering all this Erudio stress.0 -
My ex doesn't care. If it doesn't affect t him or he can't see the effects of it it doesn't exist. I asked for half uniform costs this year oh and half my daughters trip costs. So far he has ignored those emails.ONE HOUSE , DS+ DD Missymoo Living a day at a time and getting through this mess you have created. One day life will have no choice but to be nice to me :rotfl:0

Good. Higher deferment level means less money for £rudio:-)
Looks like Annas guess of 28,745 was pretty close :-)0 -
19 decisions about Erudio with the FOS.
http://www.ombudsman-decisions.org.uk/
They are about two grand down for bad customer service and generally being called out on their DCA tactics.
Tis pity the FOS are refusing to RULE on the DAF issue: its a business/commercial decison, nothing wrong with it etc (well except when ERUDIO THEMSELVES admit to the FOS that parts of it go outside the original terms ) - Incredible abnegation of DUTY by the FOS there as I am sure you will agree.
So keep complaining folks0 -

Does this mean we will be 100% clear if we cancel those DD we had set up in year 1's fiasco?
Shall read some more tomorrow.
Good news about the threshold going up as Anna said. We now have our own Nostradamus who will be able to give us an advanced heads up on the deferment threshold every year :T0
