ERUDIO student loans help

Has anyone on here successfully had their loans written off on reaching age 50 and if so, what process did you follow?
Can't find anything on Erudio's FAQs for this and yet by now they must have had at least some of the initial borrowers hit the age limit.0 -
@ ossi
Thanks for that - my fiftieth birthday falls a couple of weeks before my projected deferment date - so I'm hopeful of not having to complete another deferral form - ever! - after more than 20 years of the same old every year.0 -

Pretty much sums up what an utter shambles of an outfit they are, and also where their priorities lie.0 -

Not a single reply to my question - they either ignore the letter completely & don't reply at all, or ignore the question. Makes me wonder what else they have up their sleeve about manipulating write off dates; or am I too cynical?
Each FOS complaint or court case damages Erudio's DCA business model, so it has to be worth doing.0 -
gardenia - If you have the time/energy to do it, that's another valid FOS complaint right there, the fact Erudio have ignored your requests for info for so long, and you have proof of that. FOS don't seem willing to resolve the bigger issues, but from what I've seen, the ombudsmen do recognise crap customer service and will award compensation accordingly, plus it'll hopefully cost Erudio in FOS fees to get it resolved.

My adjudicator has referred my case up to an ombudsman herself - I didn't have to ask or refuse to accept her findings. Wasn't sure this was how FOS worked, but hey ho.....
I've asked for a weeks extension as I want to make sure I've nailed each & every point of my complaint before it all goes to the ombudsman. Anna - my adjudicator has certainly targeted their appalling customer service regarding large print issues out of all the points of my complaint. She hasn't ignored the other points about CRA reporting, DAFs etc. but those replies have been waffle in places; like many others have had from FOS. To me, while the large print issue is certainly a p'off, it isn't the main reason I complained - I'd really like a resolution to the many other issues that affect us all.
Erudio are STILL ignoring my requests for information about my write off date & STILL haven't sent me any large print documents. I'm amazed that they are still so rubbish at sorting my requests out - all they seem to be able to do is ignore me :rotfl:
Glad to hear Ossi had loans written off correctly at 60 :T. I expect I'll still be on this thread when I'm 50 (almost 4 years from now), so hopefully my loans will also be written off then too.And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...0 -
It's taken ages due to real life getting in the way, but I've finally penned my official letter of complaint to Erudio. I've also asked for details on my loan (how many payments are outstanding and when it will be written off). We'll see how that goes (badly, without doubt) before we up the stakes.0

Well the real Ombudsman got back with their final decision:
- remove Mr L's arrears, as if Mr L's new deferral period started on the 15 May 2014, immediately after the previous deferral period ended and amend its records to reflect this.
- remove any adverse information it may have registered on Mr L's credit file since 2014
- pay Mr L £50 for the distress caused.
Really don't want to sign their form or have anything to do with them as they are sharks and I don't believe crossing out bits of the form well do anything as they'll just cry ignorance if they do anything underhand.
Also as this has now entered 2015 deferment period won't they just stick arrears on my again and I'll have to do it all again? I did send another letter and payslips again this year just in case, they haven't responded, probably due to the FOS complaint in progress.0 -

Seems the FOS are not interested in looking at the DAF, and seem to insist we sign away our rights by using it?
Has anyone reported them to the FCA?

Q14: What should I do if I think I am subject to an unfair term?
Answer:
Where a consumer believes that a term creates a significant imbalance between their rights and obligations and those of the firm or that a term is not expressed in plain and intelligible language, they should refer the matter to the Consumer Contracts team for their consideration.

I'm still waiting for a response to my TWO offer letters that have been sent to Erudio. The first didn't appear to have been signed for so a second was sent by special delivery.
Seems to me they are willfully ignoring it. I'll be phoning them tomorrow anyway to make the payment that is due and I'll be giving them a mouthful when I do that.0 -
