I've emailed them, phoned them and written to them and heard nothing back. All I know is they took a dd out of my account last week and I have never received anything from them saying how much I owe, or how much my monthly repayments will be. I think its really bad that a company can seem to change rules when it was written they wouldn't be when they brought the loans. I dont know if they're going to force there way into my house and demand money I don't have at the moment and it scares me as someone living alone.

I think their behaviour is absolutely shocking. Incompetence on a mass scale and quite likely breaching their terms. One or two mistakes maybe can be excused but the amount of wrongly taken payments....

Get on to your bank asap and ask for the money to be returned under the direct debit mandate. There's been some very useful and helpful advice about this on this forum.

This could be the last time such an encounter takes place, so the more people who tweet questions, or especially their concerns/experiences the better!

just curious, are they legally allowed to ask for bank statements if i have already provided letter from employer, most recent p60, my tax return and child benefit letter? i get expenses paid to me by my employer (for petrol etc) but never included this in my application as i see it as just being reimbursed. can they turn around and say this was other income? if yes, it still wouldnt take me over the threshold but i'd be now worried they could try and nail me for omitting it.

Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere, but I'm sure my deferment period ends shortly, and I've not received anything from Erudio - should I just sit tight and wait? I have been paying my loans in dribs and drabs over the years, but with a standing order - the old SLC tried to get me to sign up to a direct debit, but I refused. Any advice much appreciated.

So Arrow seem to be running it, or looking at the statistical info.
Arrow didnt deny subcontracting out the deferment to Capita. So it is Capita (Ventura) we are dealing with. Not even !!!!ing Erudio.
Erudio dont have anyone working for them, they are just the foil for complaints, a brand to dirty that wont affect any company's brand image, and something through which to funnel the cash.
Lets hope they get Arrow back on for another longer grilling by Martin Lewis. Well done, at least someone is passionate about it, and an expert in this field.

I certainly wouldn't trust them to send you anything. Don't risk waiting - contact them and start the ball rolling with renewing your deferment. If you are due to do so soon, don't leave it up to them. They could try and claim that they did send you something, or perhaps they have and it really has gone missing in the post.

Also, note what others on this forum have helpfully advised. Don't use their own deferment form. There was a template posted here, I think. Very useful.

    Thanks for letting us know.

I'm sorry I missed this. I only just had a chance to get onto the forum. I've never used twitter before but if another chance comes up, I might just sign up.
  • So, it looks as though there are two other tactics being used to trick people into defaulting...

A little context: I have four loans from before, during and after 1998. Though apparently only the Pre-1998 loans have been sold to Erudio, only one of mine is pre-1998, so therefore it is the customer that has been sold to Erudio, not the loans. I think some clarity is required here!

    Trip hazard one:
I have received three Deferment Application forms that cover all four loans. Each form has a unique 'customer reference' number so I suspect that I have to complete all three individually as should I only complete one, I would likely be deemed to have defaulted on the others.

    Trip hazard two:
Oddly one form covers two of the loans: the pre 1998 and post 1998 loans. So that's two loans, with different Terms and Conditions, covered by one application form...

The T's & C's on the pre-1998 loan allow my details to be passed to CRA, yet the post-1998 doesn't allow reporting to CRA's unless I default. So how do they distinguish between the two when submitting to CRA's? Oh, I bet they can't or won't.

This is an overly complex and unnecessary process to help hide the myriad of trip hazards littered throughout it. It smells of sewer rats and weasels.

I listened to the R5L programme today with GREAT interest. I hope there is much more to come as there is much left to answer. The Department for Business Information and Skills also has a lot to answer for... The statement read out proves they don't give a monkeys.
Also, 'Zak' mentioned this is the first experiment, so we need to get it right ... so what deals are they currently in negotiation / tendering for?

Thanks very much for this, I will definitely get in contact with them. And I'll look at the template as well.
