Thanks! Do you know if Erudio have any chance to throw a spanner in the works, e.g. do they get to review the application and request more info if they want it? Or do they just have to abide by SLC's decision?
Keep an eye on your bank account! Erudio stole two 'payments' from me with the excuse that they'd not received notification of deferment from SLC. I had to use the direct debit indemnity claim at the bank to get the money back.meh...0 -
Is cancellation due before your current deferment's up Jonez? If so, I doubt if there's much they can do now to prevent it.
Good luck with it, must feel good to be in sight of the escape route
Yes - the cancellation falls before the end of the current deferment period. To be honest, I didn't have too much difficulty with them, but yes, it'll be a relief - not simply because of the money - more because of the people to whom I now owe it!0 -

Have you met our saviour Helen (bottom of Erudio's home page)?

Message from Helen Ashton about the new Deferment Application Form and How to Guide.
Welcome to Erudio Student Loans. I joined the company recently and I am the executive responsible for running Erudio in a way that customers expect and deserve.
The transfer of 500,000 loans (representing some 250,000 individual customers) is always going to be complex, and we recognise that we didn't get everything right first time. I want to apologise for the errors we made and assure you that we have learned a lot from these, we are listening to our customers and we are working hard to make improvements.
My priority is to ensure our customers receive the high level of service they rightly expect. To do this we are introducing improvements across all aspects of Erudio. We have already taken a number of important steps, including launching a new Deferment Application Form and How to Guide (25/02/15) ahead of what is the peak deferment period for Erudio customers. The new versions of these documents were developed following customer feedback and a wider external and internal review process.
Importantly, in the new Deferment Application Form we have removed certain questions as well as highlighted where information is optional. We have also changed the layout to help you calculate your annual income.
Having listened to customer feedback, in the How to Guide we have been able to confirm that credit searches completed as part of the deferment application process will be treated as a special case and the footprint they leave on your credit file will not be shared with, or be visible to, other lenders.
We will continue to work to make the deferment and payment processes as straightforward as possible. We recognise there are still further improvements to be made and, whilst not all of these can be implemented overnight, we will continue to listen to feedback and make the changes required to improve our service.

Also, the new deferment application guide is up on their website, here:
http://www.erudiostudentloans.co.uk/lib/docs/145040-how-to-guide-getting-your-deferment-application-formright.pdf0 -
Only read up to page 5 of the guide, a couple of glaring boo-boos:
Page 2 "information should be based on the month in which you complete this form and your expected income over the next two months". Nope, it's income in the 'relevant month", so the month before application. Good to see they've chosen to ignore the feedback on this.
Page 5 - they've amended the guide to say self-employed and rent income should be net (after allowable deductions). Then:
"For self-employment, this is the amount you are paid after any deductions such as Income Tax". Oh dear.
Edit: Now read through the rest, looks like Helen's not our saviour after all, and is as full of !!!!!! as the rest of them. Not much changed from draft from what I can see, but they are now calling our deferment applications a "credit application". !!!!!!?? In what way are we applying for money? If I wanted credit, these fcukers would be last on my list, underneath Wonga!!0 -

OR we've chanced our arm BIG TIME with scummy DCA tactics on honest deferers and been told off by regulators
F**k'em. They lost any remaining good will I had (not much admittedly) when they answered my complaint in Janurary 2015 about an illegal credit search with a kindly offer to repay my Arrears in three installments. C**tS
