Exactly anna! Just to let US know THEY are in our lives, using all the underhand tricks that regulators seem blind to, using double speak and ulterior motives to ply their manipulative well researched/tried and tested tricks.0

Has anyone been deferred? How long does it take?
I applied for my deferment in May after checking and getting confirmation of sending payslips via email. In June I received a letter that they are unable to defer as they had no payslips. So I emailed back with a copy of the earlier email querying the letter. I was told to call them as they could not respond by email due to security and I had to go through an IDV process.
I asked them to send a confirmation email that they had received the documents which they did. Since then I have heard nothing apart from a text this week saying 'we need to contact you' and kindly give a contact number to pay at my expense.
I'm going to write a letter to enquire regarding the progress, as I presume I'll get the same reply that they cannot reply to emails due to security.
I do not earn the amount which they referred to of 23,000 on the deferment form and did not fill in the DD on the form I assume this is why they need to contact me. From experiences of other companies happily taking money out of my account without permission its something I will not agree to. With reading the responses of it happening and they 1st impression of them not being able to find my 1st email with the appropriate payslips just shows they're not that professional.
Add your address and D.O.B to the end of an email, they accept that as enough evidence they're dealing with the account holder.0 -

The FCA might be different, I'm an optimist haha! So anyone affected by Erudio has to copy in the FCA, that's the only way (other than through the press) that we can make an impact, as the ombudsman only considers each individual case... or judicial review, anyone?

And Erudio also have to abide to rules of the Credit Services Association, if they break them, you can complain here:

Edit: I did eventually get a copy of the loan agreements, with the response to my complaint, all of it was illegible but they included 3 template sets, might have been helpful but it didn't match with 2 of the 3 agreements! I'm in Scotland, which might explain the different terms?0 -
I think we may already have had a very strong impact already:

Although Vince Cable and BIS seem to suggest selling off the student loans is not financially valid now, with the press coverage making no mention of the Erudio debacle, i just wonder if we may have just had the ultimate effect. Here is one bit of th article: "MPs have told the Government set out the costs of the sale, as well as the benefits. Adrian Bailey, chair of the BIS select committee, said: “The student loans system needs urgent attention and it’s vital that BIS doesn’t further undermine the viability of the system by selling off the income-contingent loan book at a knock-down price.”
well, concerning the benefits of a sale, that is surely where we come in at some point. We are the case study for how future sales would go. BIS have been inundated with complaints from us and we have focused alot of attention on this issue with our peppering of everyone we could think of. With certain legal issues some of us have raised about changes to this and that, finding it virtually impossible to get specific answers to specific questions, and highlighting how poor Arrow, Erudio etc is (one of the best at this kind of operation according to what BIS believed) must have been on the radar of people like Cable and the Lib dems. I am not suggesting that we have been responsible solely for the about turn because money speaks louder to most, but when considering future loan sales, BIS will have been very aware of how the last sale of our loans has created much more work for them than they would like. BIS were also interacting very closely with Lewy, calling him numerous times a day, and even forcing his hand to admit the 500 DDs stolen and such things.
Maybe we had no effect, with poor oiks (us) being the last consideration, but i very much doubt anyone in government could say they cancelled student loan sales because the one undertaken so far where all power was handed over to a private company has been a disaster...no, they would give another reason, ie, that it doesnt represent good value for money (well, was the sale of our loans good value for money...rereading the earlier forum posts would suggest we thought not on the whole, nor did the earliest news reports of the sale).
Of course, that doesnt help our predicament dealing with these vultures for many years to come, but if we have had an influence (even a small one) on that decision to stop the sale of student loan debt, then we have had a significant result.0 -

I suspect nobody bid, rather than our plight being in any way involved.
It's clear from the BIS responses and the "help" from people's MPs that they simply don't care about us."Love you Dave Brooker! x"

Im not so sure about that. It was my original thought we had no role, but the more i think about it, the more i think we are within the influential sphere to some degree. Just because they dont speak out in our favour, as they generally decide to back themselves on decisions made, that doesnt mean they aren't calling it a disaster within BIS. After all, they will have regular meetings between management discussing problems, block ups etc, and we have definitely caused rumblings within BIS, that is a fact. We are the only real evidence...we are half of the end result of the experiment. The other being was it good value for money (or should i say, can it be spun as that), and the answer is obviously no. Governments tend to back themselves on ideological shifts and give things a chance to develop, until they go belly up that is.
Who knows, maybe they are backtracking because the sell off hit some unforeseen legal hitch, or some lawyer has found it infringed on 250,000 peoples legal rights in some way.
Im not saying you are not right though because clearly the evidence seems to be that Arrow has a pretty free hand to act like a debt collector with 'manners'.0 -
At last! 4 days after writing a complaint to Erudio, deferment finally granted! To think that this all began for me in May.0

erudio are a deserter and seem unable to process anything....
I have asked to rise a competent 4 times by email and I have rang and had the phone put down on me. Their records seem to be out of date or just wrong.
Having been deferred by SLC it took almost 4 weeks for erudio to update, in the meantime they started to take money by DD.
I tried pointing out, that I was deferment and the one woman put the phone down, I tried to rise a complain by email but I just get the same copy paste email back...
Have now given up, possible the worst company I have ever had to deal with, just felt very stressed by there whole lack of process.0 -
If you haven't already, claim any money taken back under the direct debit guarantee. You shouldn't have to pay for their incompetence.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

As well as claiming back your money via DD guarantee also make sure you document everything and write down times and dates of phone calls and emails too and what was said/done. If there is no response to your email complaint within eight weeks - go to the FOS with your complaint.
Are they actually getting worse????0
