Internet in two places

I live with my mum at the moment with my two children but shortly will be moving in to my own house a few doors down the road.


Even though I will be moving out we will still be staying several nights a week as I work long days and mum helps me with childcare.


I need internet access at both places. Currently I have a broadband only package with PlusNet at my mums and will needs something similar at mine.


Will I have to just pay twice or can I get multi-location options??


I have a mobile with 3g but my 9 yr old has an xbox and ipad that he drools over and keeps him out of my mums hair.


Any ideas guys??

Depending on distance you may be able to set up a wifi link and have an AP running at the new premises. It might take some skill to set up if it needs a couple of external aerials to get it working. Failing that then it will be two phone lines and two internet connections for full ADSL.

initial test ..... if you have a laptop then connect and start to walk from your mums .... keep an eye on the connection speed and how long before it dies.

If you can get close then just using a wifi extender may be enough.

The positioning of the router in your mums house will all so be a factor.
