If you are not on the property ladder and are located in London & the south east
By the end of this year then with this and the influx of Chinese & Russians you have missed the boat.

I sit here typing smugly in my property which as increased £75k in 7 months so bite me suckers!

Agreed, but on a serious note, you cannot lose buying property in London & the south east, even during the housing crash prices just pause or rise slowly and the government aren't doing anything to quash the demand..

If anyone is waiting for some miracle crash, if it happens you will be priced out of the market by then anyway so buy now.

This has already happened, look at all those people on HPC waiting eagerly for the crash which finally occurred in 2008.

And what have we had since then? generation rent still moaning they cant afford to buy.

Just as the peaks keep getting higher, so will the troughs in future crashes.

Yeah but in the north we get massive gardens, wide open spaces, fresh air etc etc :D you can keep your equity, your pollution, your tiny boxes that you call homes and your unfriendly computing experiences. It's not all about money

If 8million Londoners moved north house prices would go insanel, every garden would get turned into a black of flats and you wouldn't be able to move south to escape us as the Russians and Chinese and Singaporians would have bought everything already.
  • Fortunately this won't happen as at least half don't know there is live beyond the m25.

Why will you need to downsize?

There's no shame in renting, I don't understand why there is such a stigma attached to it. Renting works fine as long as a decent T ends up with a decent LL, it does happen.

Going back a generation or so, not everybody owned their own home.
