Can someone help with this please?

My PC Keyboard has suddenly started missing out letters when I type. What could be the problem?

Dirt under the keys. Lever the keys up with a lollipop stick or similar, clean, replace.

    Its ok,

I eat at my keyboard all the time.
At the end of the week I shake out all the crumbs and then eat them.

I leave the crumbs where they are .........
    The mouse eats them.

If the keyboard is really grim -

    TAKE A PHOTO OF KEYBOARD

Lever off all keys. Allow to soak in a warm water 'bath' with a good handful of household washing soda. Swish occasionally - wear rubber gloves. This is a degreaser so is not kind to skin.

Rinse WELL and allow to dry on an old towel.

While the keys are off use a soft brush to clean the 'bed' of the keyboard. Don't be tempted to use an air duster as you may drive dust into the inner part of the keyboard.

    Replace.

'Dirt' from your hands is oily; combined with food waste, dust and dead skin cells a 'scum' can build up on the keys.

If you don't want to dismantle then remove keyboard and use a clean paintbrush to dust the keyboard - I do this outside as a fair bit of dust (etc) will be dislodged. holding the keyboard vertically as much as possible so the detritis drops out.

And, just so you know, I work in a school and occasionally bring home (absolutely foul) keyboards to clean them! This way I get a clean keyboard with not a great deal of effort!

I always use a vacuum cleaner with the brush attachment on mine; it's surprising how much cleaner it is afterwards.

This is one of the funniest articles I've seen for ages on the internet:
    http://www.howtogeek.com/65915/how-to-clean-your-filthy-keyboard-in-the-dishwasher-without-ruining-it/

All that effort when you can buy a new one for £5.

The keyboard in question is spotless, no dust or anything in fact it looks brand new. I never eat anything when using it but I will take advice and have a go at lifting the keys and cleaning and see if it is any better.
