I was once told by an employer that I wouldn't fit into their team. It most definitely happens.0

Interestingly, those are also three qualities found in abundance within financiers and politicians.
I don't know about politicians, but iit definitely does not ring true for bankers. On the deferred gratification point, for example, very few of us tend to have left school at sixteen and taken the first job that let us buy an XR3i. Far more likely we stayed on and did A-levels, and then picked a difficult quantitative degree.
When I talk about deferring gratification, this is the sort of thing I mean. Taking the hard route and sticking in at school, instead of bunking off, smoking, and telling the teachers to go and screw themselves is not the route to quick pleasure.0 -
Where did that come from? Please explain further as I am at a loss to know what you are on about especially as you don't know me. Bet you are not man enough to say as you are just a troll.
On the contrary! I am stating that you come across as the 'Big I Am', you have this, that and the other qualification and experience, yet you are very quick to 'put down' those that interview you thinking you are better than them. They are in that job for a reason, they are valued and respected by their employers, but of course, you will tell me different.
Oh and by the way, your PM telling me to F Off!, how very funny and childish, speaks volumes.0 -

I agree with Horace. I think you should wind your neck in and lay off the cooking sherry.0 -
I've talked to quite a few long term unemployed people when I was signing on, some of which have held down jobs for years or decades.
One thing that I haven't seen mentioned is how they might of been burned-out or traumatized by their last job. Office politics, bullying, theft and other kinds of abuse may discourage an individual from wanting to work in the long term. Of course you could blame them for having a 'negative mindset' and not moving on but most are just being realistic in their assessment that these days, employers are racing each other to the bottom by cutting wages, exploiting staff and trying to cower their workforce.0
