Does POPLA appeal mean you lose discount?

I'm starting a new thread on this, as my question has got lost in my other thread about appealing to POPLA.

The letter refusing my first appeal states that I an pay £50 now, or go to POPLA. If I lose at POPLA I will lose the discount and need to pay the full £90.

This sounds very unfair to me. Is it true that if I lost at POPLA I will also lose the discount?

Technically, yes, you lose the discount, but in reality, you won't pay anything because you owe nothing, the forum has 100% record in winning hundreds of POPLA appeals (aside from 1 decision which is currently being appealed further).

Read the link below for everything you need to know and how to structure & word your appeal.

And even if you lost at POPLA you don't have to pay, PPCs are forever losing at Small Claims Court now too.

nothing about this private parking industry is fair annie

in a way , its all or nothing or pay the bullies

if you use this forum for help with a popla appeal you will win and pay nothing at all, zilch , nada , nowt

so as mentioned earlier this equates to a 100% discount and thats the end of it, no payment and nothing else to do , no more letters and no debt collector or court letters

you appeal to popla, you win , nobody loses unless they put in a badly worded popla appeal , which you wont do if helped by this forums members

so you are asking about a scenario that wont happen, as long as the popla appeal has the correct wording in it

do not give in to the bullies , dont pay them otherwise they will carry on sc*mming the unwary

Yes, thanks, I'm working on my POPLA appeal using advice from this forum, but I still want to understand the whole situation.

Call me old-fashioned, but I think I should be in possession of all the facts so I can make an informed decision, and it just seems unfair to me that someone would lose a discount because they chose to engage in a legitimate appeal route. That is my point, but obviously the system is unfair, and allows people to be threatened by the fact they will lose the discount if they appeal. It just seems unfair to me.

I do understand the very high, almost perfect, favourable POPLA decisions using advice from this site, but not everyone has access to the Internet and it just seems surprising that the rules allow this. There may be people out there who decide to pay up because they don't want to risk paying £90 instead of £50. Not me, but other people, particularly vulnerable people. It bothers me.

See above, my thinking is that this is blackmail, and many people may not want to take the risk. Not me, but other people who may be more vulnerable. I think it is unfair if this really is the case.

Of course another reason why they offer that discount is to mimic council parking tickets and make them look more official.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
