  • Hi Shelbi, I read through most of your diary a few months ago when I discovered MSE and DFW Diaries and found it really inspiring. I'm a similar amount of debt so I found it really useful. You did so well but you've left me hanging! I need closure lol!

Hope you managed to get rid of the last bit of debt.

    Hi diary land

So its 3 years on from when I first started my debt battle and yep I'm back again... time to get my life back in order...and my debts down and finished once and for all:o. 2 things made me look into my finances- 1 Xmas is on its way soon and 2. the long life balance free card has come to an end (had thought id have slayed it by now but know still have £6645.93 worth of debt left & giving myself 6 months to clear it.

1st part of the action plan was restart my diary, this helped massively last time, I'm hoping it will do so again & get rid of debt once and for all!!

2nd move my interest increasing balance to balance free card- this time chosen the shortest 0% balance transfer period I could find (3months at 0%). hopefully that will encourage me to get rid the first half of it- (CC1). The second lump is on a LT 0% payback but will treat as 3% after the 1st has been cleared (CC2).

have managed to bring in lunch & confess my sins...will create a budget and make a list of all the challenges ill subscribe too...as its Xmas don't really want to be skintting it completely but will need a decent budget to get me through& hit my goal...right I best get back to work...bye all:D xX

Ok so have kinda messed up turns out Haliwax (cc2) have started charging interest 2 this month...seriously confused thought it had a much longer 0% interest term. So have stupidly opted for a 3 month 0% Interest balance when I should've got a longer term...only a £4 interest on a 3.5k balance but damn Im so annoyed with myself for this!! So basically both cards need to be paid off ASAP. so far daily payments made have been £2.11 pathetic I know but something at least. I think this shows me how much I need to sort this out. Im ready! So my plan is to pay 3 monthly instalments of £1048.64 to cc1 and 3 instalments of 59.01 to cc2 (£1107.65 total to be paid on the 1st each payday) I have to try to live on the rest £1237.39- maybe a little tricky but needs to be done. After the remaining balance of £3322.96 will be paid with February's pay (assuming I receive a bonus this year) New goal DFD 26 Feb 2016...105 days from now so google tells me (3months & 13days from today)...think I need a brand new diary from this challenge.
