This is what my local NHS Trust told me about Vinci

    1) How tickets have been issued by Vinci for the year 01/01/2013 to
    31/12/2013

1617 tickets have been issued by ABMU Car Parking Staff.

    2) How many has been cancelled by you for this period?

    208 tickets have been cancelled.

    3) How much does the NHS trust get for each paid ticket?

ABMU Health Board receives the full allocation of funding for each ticket.

I suppose the hospital will now trot out the well-used platitude "lessons have been learned". The answer to every mistake which takes place, not only in the NHS but in other large organisations.
Social workers and councils to name but 2 :)

I think it means they get the entire cost of the ticket, so £20 for early payment and £40 for later payment. Which means that the only time Vinci makes money is if it goes further and they add on their extortionate fees, then that is paid. Or they are paid to run it.

But some other things have come out about their policies, and the fact they are not abiding by them. Will post it in full when the whole thing has ended

This country is running on scams and running out of control.

Where is the political party that pledges to make both these type private parking scammers and local councils get their grubby dirty hands out of our pockets.

I feel that too - and it's not just PPC's - it's everywhere, from whiplash claims for the lightest of touches to automatic insurance renewals that you don't know you have and have to pay an 'admin' fee to get out of. It feels like the whole economy of the country is turning into some sleazy backstreet operation...

These may be weasel words that hide the truth. I don't know about Vinci but in the case of PE NHS contracts for pay & display PE pay the Trust the lost parking fee (£x/hour) for all motorists who contravene the T&Cs but PE keep all the excessive fees that they manage to screw out of the motorist. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Vinci use the same arrangement otherwise they would be getting FA from most tickets & that isn't how PPCs make money.

Stroma was this a full FOI request or just informal?

"full allocation of funding for each ticket" is very vague - is this a pay and display car park?

It's a foi request, I will be going back to them on this and other things. And no it's not as NHS Trusts in Wales cannot charge for parking

Which again raises a question of how can they ever actually suffer a financial loss.

There are a number of issues not just this one, for example their policies at the trust is full of penalties and fines, and they are not supposed to ticket on first 'offence' but give a warning, guess what happened to the driver on their first visit there?
