"Hilton couple win battle over £70 parking fine at Burtons Queens Hospital"
Quote from article here
The Queen's Hospital car parking system works on automatic number plate recognition. Mr Popple said it appeared the machine accepted their money but did not register it to their car.
He said: "We've paid the correct money but received a massive fine. It's theft.
"Our appeal failed so we had to pay it and I was not happy about it at all. I'm pleased we are being reimbursed but I think this system needs to be looked at."
A spokesman from the Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said: "After speaking with Mr Popple, it appears that a genuine mistake has been made. We have therefore agreed to reimburse Mr Popple the cost of the penalty charge notice."

So the NHS is coughing up for this? More money diverted from health care so as not to offend their contractors? Appalling and quite scandalous misuse of public funds!
Why aren't they pressing PE to repay this? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Not only hospital trusts are wasting money paying these charges some are also spending large amounts of money taking people to court over parking charges. Two come to mind, East Kent and Aintree. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

It is always a "genuine mistake" over and over and over and over again, dozens of times in every town every day, hundreds of times in every county every day, thousands of times country wide every day.
Just a "genuine mistake"
Never down to inviting a crooked bunch of greedy scammers on to your car park and letting them rip in to your customers / patients / disabled / sick / vulnerable is it ?
Just a mistake, as usual.
Carry on Scamming. coming to a car park near you soon.Be happy...;)0 -
Agree with spacey. I saw something about parking eye a while ago, it was a photoshopped image and was supposed to be ironic, but it was something like this

I suppose the hospital will now trot out the well-used platitude "lessons have been learned". The answer to every mistake which takes place, not only in the NHS but in other large organisations. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

What they should do is make it clear that they receive a kick back, a back hander, a pay off from them every scam that gets pulled.
They are scams as they are unlawful penalties contrary to Case law, which last time I looked was still law in this country, dozens of district judges agree as well.
What they are doing is Unlawful.
It is in their own best interests as many vulnerable people as possible get scammed.
This country is running on scams and running out of control.
Where is the political party that pledges to make both these type private parking scammers and local councils get their grubby dirty hands out of our pockets.Be happy...;)0
