I was wondering if Clarks do an outlet shop or if there was a Clarks type shop I hadn't heard off. AS I said in my OP I didn't like the idea of Asda/Tesco shoes...

The Clarks pre-walkers- should I bother with them? or best wait till LO can walk and would save monay?

In Kendal there is the K Shoe Village and they do Clarks shoes - Kendal is a beautiful little town in Cumbria and there is so much to see/do there... you could make a day of it.

    It is discount shoes...

Oh and they don't all go up sizes in 8 weeks, think in my DS first year he had 3 pairs of shoes but I took him every 8 weeks for a check up.

Make sure you get measured by a 'grown-up' looking member of staff and not the Saturday girl.
Though bare in mind we have an MSE'r who works in Clarks who once pointed out that the 19yo had been there 3 years and the 40+ yo a few months. ;)

This is just an allegory to get the point across ;)

No need to take it literally, as I am sure the OP knows.

You should always buy good shoes and a decent bed - if you're not in one, you're in the other. ;)

No they don't... my DD had the same shoes for about 3 months and I was getting paranoid they'd sold me shoes WAYYY too big to begin with!!! I must have taken her back 3 times to get them to check her feet again!

Clarks shoes are cool... my DD had some lovely brown boots for Winter and now she's got some beautiful little shoes.. they are so well made. I wouldn't go anywhere else to be honest. And yeah, it's extortionate how much they charge...

I let my lot roam around the house barefoot or in slipper socks when they first toddled. (we have a very slidy victorian tiled hallway)
Since then they have had shoes off ebay (little kicker boots - v. chav but could not resist) and also Vertbaudet were good for DS leather lined suede boots kept his feet cool as he has eczema. And they did half sizes. BUT I have also had some 2nd hand shoes, but as long as you measure they should be ok. Just get a piece of card and draw round the foot, or get measured in Clarks then buy elsewhere;) If you want to do the Clarks /start rite thing fair enough but it no way means you are comitting a crime if you don't buy expensive shoes. Dont keep shoes on all day and do not wear the same shoes 2 days in a row. Same applies for us growd ups;) ALways gove your feet a rest and go shoe and sock free often.
