A yellow feather duster thing which doubles as a cat toy. Or I use the nearest cat. I don't use polish on anything.

"it's better than a poke in the eye with a pointy stick" - my dad, regularly throughout my childhood when I complained about something being too small/not perfect/not tasty/not what I wanted. he was right every time. :D
  • I used to use a feather duster but they fell apart too easily so now it's a synthetic one with yellow filaments instead of feathers.

    It's fairly effortless.
  • I use one of OH's clean old socks (which I put my hand in), and Comfort fabric conditioner.

........... I LOVE my MF glove duster, with little 'fingers' (from Morries) - it has a polishing side for mirrors and does a fantastic job .............

I've got two of these as well and they're brilliant :T.

Can't stand the feel of microfibre cloths. Mr Spouse swears by them, but I can't even pick one up. *shudders*

I use a good old fashioned yellow duster, with a bit of own-brand polish where needed. I also have a 'feather' duster on a long pole for the tops of curtain poles and around the corners of the ceiling (old house - lots of spiders), and a sort of oblong thing for the radiators (some bright spark decided she liked the 'traditional' 2-column ones, without thinking that she'd also need to keep them clean).

Damp microfibre and a dry one for buffing up if needed afterwards. I damp the cloth with a water / flash mix. On wood i use L*rd Sher*ton polish with the microfibre (bought only when on offer) x

I'm glad not everyone uses microfibre and the like. We recycle all DHs old pants!:rotfl:

He does the dusting here, mainly with some cheap spray but I'll occasionally do proper cleaning with beeswax and Brasso and washing ornaments but still with the old pants!

Often wonder what neighbours think about them on the washing line!;)

Glad it's not just me, even thinking about them makes me cringe.
My mum kept raving on about microfibre towels and I said I wouldn't be able to use them.
She called me soft and bought me some anyway then moaned when she realised they hadn't been used 3 years later. She then said I could cut them up as cleaning cloths  She just doesn't get it.
