For those worried about my diet, this evening I had roast beef with carrots, aubergine, onion, cauli and broccoli. And yorkies and roast spuds of course.

I thought the burns were getting better really fast. Turns out I was taking paracetamol with codeine rather than paracetamol alone.

    Oh well.

Keep taking it then. No glory in suffering. It doesn't sound as if you are ready for paracetemol alone just yet.

You will be in a couple of days .

Paracetamol with ibuprofen is meant to be good. Half dose of each, then you can repeat if needed.

I saw ths earlier and espeically the tab about Georgia and wondered what the odds of seeing Vladikavkaz twice in two days were....

It's come just as trade is being re-opened with Russia and Europe's economy is improving generally, IMO this couldn't have come at a much better time.

Sorry I didn't post more than a link last night. I was stuck at lights and was trying to do it before they moved to green.

I'm just hoping it doesn't spoil what Georgia's become, but that we'll see.....

It's a block of flats, which is walk up at the moment, and we are toying with the idea of installing a lift. I suspect it will be too expensive though.

I feel incredibly stupid! I've just completed my walk, and I noticed that I seem to have completed it more quickly than ever. Then, I noticed that my watch has stopped. :(
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

No, it seems not. Ironically now I find myself requesting the lumbar puncture and being denied it! I will probably end up still having not one but two surgeries pretty soon. The first has been on the cards for a while but I have been desperately not wanting it because it throws all hope of ever being 'me' again away. While it might be a pipe dream, its been a bit of a goal.

I've never known 'you', but the you I know is amazing.

Typed some other stuff about how we all change, then deleted it.

Hope the meds don't have too much of a negative impact.

Ikea furniture uses mainly hex headed screws. You'll need some suitable screwdriver bits for your electric screwdriver. Most fairly large sets have the right ones in.

By far the best kind of screws. I hate Philips/posidrive screws with a passion.

Will be replying to 3 posts at a time over the next several hours to see if I can gradually catch up on 3 days of NPT.

What is this thing on the top of the screen about thanking people who commented on the new forum look trial. Do we know if they've ditched it as a bad idea, or are we going to have to put up with it????

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Just to cheer you up..had a completely !!!!!! day at work:)

In the the horrible week I was expecting, I had not planned in for today... 3 massive complaints from the same nutjob, a massive email rant from same, a threat of police action from same and at least three other complex communications today involving the same.

This nut has implicated so many in what is likely to be a major fabrication that I am practically last man standing which is why all current carp from them is directed to me.

My planned horrible day is Friday:)

    Oh no. :(
    Hope Friday wasn't too bad.

I find a business-like manner is the best way to deal with popping the old chap out for medical reasons. I treat it like it's my finger or eyeball: something important and sensitive but just another part of the body ultimately.

I can't believe that anyone past year 2 in med school finds body parts in a professional setting either funny or titillating (unless they are genuinely funny like a birth mark shaped like a willy or something, Doctors aren't not made of stone).

Simply ask for and obey instruction and treat it like you have a dodgy toenail. That's my advice. If you can't get past the individual that's looking at this then perhaps you need a different individual to look at it. If it's just anyone looking at it then you need to get someone who is less blase about their body to give you advice!

I agree with all of this. And I think most women are more used to showing all to medical personnel than men are, what with smear tests and childbearing and so on.

However, I can only be matter of fact about displaying myself to a nurse/doctor etc if I don't know them socially. My best friend who lives next door is a nurse. I'm happy for her to give me advice when DD claims to be injured, and even to take blood from me if it saves a trip to the surgery, but I won't be getting her to do my smear.

    Some men. Not all men.

P.s. any man who looks at another man's member in a public toilet is asking for trouble.

Since the subject has come up, I'd like to take the opportunity to ask the male NP a question...

DS says that in order to get it out in a public toilet, it's necessary to undo not just the fly of his trousers but also the button. I had always been under the impression that only the zip was necessary to undo. I have no men that I know IRL that I would feel comfortable putting this question to. :o

I'm a veggie, but sausagemeat has never in pre veggie times held much appeal unless very well made. Not keen on eggs either. I may get a lot wrong with my diet, particularly my addiction to sugar, but my lack of egg and meat eating at least give me very good cholesterol levels.

Apparently my cholesterol is fine too, despite the amount of junk I eat. :) Once they've repeated my FBC I'm going to ask for a printout of my blood results so I can read through them all and find out how they compare with what they ought to be.

First B12 injection is Monday. Am wondering if maybe I will turn back into me again.

Acids don't help my mouth at all. I suppose I could chew on a stick of chalk whilst downing an orange juice with codine. I'd rather have a fist full of jelly beans though and a small bowl of vegetable soup though.

What about milk based drinks - milkshakes, maybe? When I was too emotionally stunned to eat anything for about 24 hours after the accident I got calories by drinking hot chocolate until I was up to eating solids again. Not that I imagine you'll be wanting hot drinks ATM.

    I only undo the zip.

I don't feel asking someone face to face this, and I'm male
