After obtaining my new bike I have experimental proof: you can forget how to ride it.

    Can you cancel weekend plans?

Seriously darling, can you do something you and mrs gen Both like?

It's Generalissimo #1's birthday. Not something that can be moved.

SiL has previously used his birthday as a way of making a complete fool of herself. I would be completely unsurprised if she did it again. She stormed out of his 4th birthday party because some party bags we'd put together for her absent kids were literally 2 sweets short of the kids that were present. She then went round to where we were staying to abuse my wife. She's an awesome piece of work.

Fundamentally she's a failure as a person and as a parent. As a result she wants to drag everything down to her level so she can feel that others are f-ups too.

Sadly, MIL passed away on Wednesday evening, and we buried her yesterday. It was sad that none of her generation were able to attend. Mostly, she'd out-lived them, and the one or two remaining were too frail to attend.

Sorry to hear that GDB2222. It puts my whinging into perspective.

I hope the end was as well as could be hoped.

Er, I made sure that my first attempt was in a secret place that was unobserved or recorded.

For future reference all those people that talk about cycling as a low impact sport: liars.

Being a complete hypochondriac, and no doubt influenced by your issues with Leon, I went to see my GP as I have had a swollen gland in my jaw for the last few weeks, expecting him to tell me it's nothing and not to waste his time. Only, he didn't, and I've got an appointment at UCH on 7 April. He thinks it's probably nothing, but ....

Best of luck, GDB. I think that's one of the few days in the next couple of weeks when I don't have an appointment at UCH!

Much love to all the GDB family.

From experience I can state that cycling should but needn't be a low impact sport.

Stupidly, I read this the first time (and second time!) as referring to some kind of wardrobe malfunction.

Hope you're ok fella. There are loads of good and bad diagnoses that can result. I hope it's a cyst or similar.

Glad to hear you have a thorough and conscientious doctor. Hope he's right in thinking it's nothing.

We are all sort of okay. DW had a bit of a cry this morning, but mostly she's been bottling it up. It's been very hard for her.

Oh GDB, it's not raining but pouring for you, isn't it? Love to Mrs GDB and all the family.

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
