Gen,
I meant to ask, how did the cello recital go?Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Where people have just voted for UKIP in order to demonstrate against what the EU stands for e.g. free movement of people, there are two ways to respond to that: a) to demonstrate to them that their view is based on illogicality or misunderstandings, or b) to say that for real change we need to change our relationship with the EU.
People who have formed their view on the basis of illogicality or misunderstandings frequently do not want to participate in discussions which might reveal that their purported reasoning doesn't hold water. In fact, they've voted based on something more instinctive. You're not going to change those views.
I feel desperately sad for my Eastern European colleagues at the moment. There's no such thing I'm sure as a typical Bulgarian, let along a typical Eastern European. Then they get called Polish (they aren't) and spoken to in loud voices as though they are deaf, when they speak perfectly good English. I think also that customers give me an easier time because I'm English, though I'd never be able to prove that.
And as for taking jobs that should have gone to other people, it is a relatively low paid job in an area where unemployment is very low and we're lucky to have such well qualified and motivated colleagues. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Called off due to unforeseen circumstances sadly. Those were that I unplugged his alarm clock on Saturday night and failed to plug it back in again.
Tomorrow we each have early starts (he has choir and I have my favourite meeting of the week, discussing economics with 50 economists and portfolio managers). We'll have to reconvene on Wednesday.0 -

It always has to be on one reel to store it/get it started.... you don't leave it half way through ..... you'd forward/rewind it back to one reel to remove it and put it back in its case.
I would say that not everybody had such a thing - as they were quite pricey. So it was a middle-class and/or enthusiast only marketplace. I've never used one, nor knew anybody who did, but I did know of their existence.
They died the death in the 60s when Philips introduced the (compact) cassette. It became the only format to survive to the 21st cntury but now I gather they're rare in the western world, except prisons where they're safer than CDs (which can be made into knives apparently).
Reel-to-reels could fill a room with tape in seconds if anything went wrong. Still got tons of tapes in the attic I need to convert to mp3s. Must find a way to do that. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Have a great time and hope you enjoy it.
Thanks. Yes, Frozen was fun. Now she wants to go swimming. Fortunately I'm not required to swim too, just sit and watch. I only swim in water that's a lot warmer that the pool she wants to go to. Just need to make sure ipod has plenty to listen to while I'm watching.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Just can't get going this weekend / bank holiday. When I have a mentally draining week at work, it takes me time to recover. I can see what needs doing and what I'd like to do, but can't mentally move myself from the sofa. So far I've managed to put seedlings outdoors, have breakfast, try to make the varifocals feel more comfortable on my nose, and struggle against self-pity. I felt so strong at the start of the week and don't know where it all went

For that money you should be able to get one that plays blu-rays as well - perhaps you did?Picked up a basic DVD player for £34 in Tesco today without bothering to do any research first.
Very educational, I had to explain what a fractal wasHalf term. Spending time with DD - just about to watch her new DVD of Frozen. Haven't seen it before.
It must be a bank holiday, I have a horrible tension headache

That's how I feel most of the time - I only do stuff like work or other "must do" things. Today I have managed to watch Frozen with DD (lying on my bed propped up on lots of pillows) and am now going to manage to drive a short distance and sit beside a swimming pool while she swims, and I'm only doing that because she's dragging me.
It's no way to live. Have a dodgy hug from me. :grouphug:

We managed just over half day trip.
. Seems big improvement, no?
Drive was quicker than I thought, ( For was driving so I had added an hour mentally to the time each way but actually, he drove as nipping as a nippy thing).
Spent a whole heap load of money. Thought about calling the doozer's to see if they were about but thought it was rude at such short notice .
Kiwi came with us and was BEAUTIFULLY behaved with a cat and a dog he met who were great chums and we saw a GORGEous house. First time DH has admitted he likes a house 'as much as' ours. ( it. Was several hundred times nicer and bigger than ours!)0 -
