It is a posh watch. It was a gift for a special occasion. I wear it rarely. Half the time I wear it the battery has died since the last time I took it out of the box. If I am honest, even with the battery working it is difficult to tell the time as the face has no markings and is very long and thin. So having got it out and made the decision to wear it, I wear it with a flat battery. So we could almost call it a bracelet. So I have a posh bracelet that was more expensive than my number plate. But it is beautiful.

I have a similar sounding watch which was my 21st birthday present. Although how you describe them sounds similar, I wouldn't be surprised if they are quite different and yours was more expensive than mine.
No private number plates on Miniver :)

I've never made/eaten mayo ... except that which comes in a squeezy bottle from Lidl :)

I don't each much mayo (once or twice a year maybe). I keep meaning to try and make some just for fun (and to see what it's like).

I won (don't ask!) a large amount of mayo earlier in the week - over 700g. No idea what I'm going to do with it other than invite lots of people over for mayo sarnies accompanied by things to dip in mayo (or perhaps give it to a food bank?). It's a whole lot of mayo.

Bought mayo lasts for ever in the ridge I think. We have it for ages and ages.

On the other hand, eating twice a year might push that quite a lot!

Home made may is different. Not better IMO, on fact, for somethings I think its worse, because it has quite a lot flavour. Most of the time I use yoghurt instead of mayo for things like salads.

Edit: you can make cake with mayo. Google chocolate mayo cake. Work treat? I never have done, I just know you can.

    Another first world problem.

I solved mine btw. Hotel is booked. Neither of the previous options. Someone showed me pics of another option which was a tenner more than the expensive option, but looks really really really nice. After that I couldn't bring myself to book a night in a single bed in a Hall of Residence.

To get the pain of payment out of the way I paid for it at the time of booking so the credit card will have been paid off for a while before I stay there.

This is why I scrimp and save most of the time - so I can occasionally splash out on something extravagant (that doesn't involve getting the house or car fixed). Got to remember that!

    Hardly a restful break!!! ;)
I've never understood people who go away to work ..... I know somebody with a holiday caravan and they specifically didn't buy knick knacks, or a whole second set of cookware/belongings or try to create a "2nd home" so they could just turn up and use it on a whim, without having a big list of jobs that needed doing :)

They've kept it pretty much standard "as it came", re-using old items from home for cooking etc (whether they match or not), to be able to enjoy it and not see it as a moneypit for always having to buy new/matching items and do gardening etc.

Whereas I scrimp/save so I can afford to spend £3.50 on garden furniture as a treat :)

Glad you've chosen and paid for it, so now it's behind you and the cost is immaterial.

I'm pretty much the same, with 1-2x a year.... except occasionallyy I might use it 3-4x in quite quick succession (e.g. if I get into a summer habit of making a pasta salad as it's easy).

    I do prefer salad cream.....

I've seen them making mayo on the telly chef programmes - but as I've never tasted real mayo I'm not going to start trying to make my own (especially, also, as they make it with a food processor I don't have).

With the shop bought, being aware that it lasts a long time doesn't stop me worrying once I've opened it and it's a cheapo one (Lidl) and I know I opened it 3 months ago .... so eventually a few do get tossed after 6 months of guilt. On the other hand, I'll also put off opening it in the first place, until I feel I can justify opening it...

Not tried it myself, but if you Google it there are lots of recipes out there that show you can use it to make toast toppers, or other baked items.... when I was looking through such recipes I'll admit that I was a bit worried that heating it up'd just make it go rank ....

Same with freezing it - if possible I'd worry it'd go rank/separate upon defrosting.

    I'm a funny little bugg4h really :)

You can mix the mayo with stuff like curry powder to make dips ... but, ultimately, you do still have to eat it all - and the things you're dipping into it .... so then it's a balance between whether you're wasting calories just to get through it, or whether it's better to give it to a food bank and spend/eat those calories from things you actually enjoy.

Can you make it using any/ all of the following: microwave, kettle, panini press? :)

We cannot shoot pests as we have a public footpath across our plot.

With a couple of good lookouts and a keen eye, if you can nail it in one and run inside nobody will know it was you :)
