Has anyone signed up for this course? I'm looking at the T&Cs and they mention taking a webcam photo of yourself and photo ID. It's not entirely clear whether this is just required for those courses which are assessed and/or provide verified certificates, or for everyone.

    Does anyone know?

Hi Yorkie, I think it is for verified track only. I've signed up for other courses that have a verified track, that's how they verify you. You shouldn't need to take verified if you don't want to. There are also cost implications - verified generally not free. Though haven't signed up myself so not 100% sure.

    Spirit - sounds exhausting!

I'd say this is a race between 6 countries now.........

Having now watched it, I'd say Austria is my favourite and was definitely the favourite in the arena. Sweden, UK, Netherlands, Armenia, Ukraine should do well. I'm going to stick my neck out and say Spain and Azerbaijan should score well too.

On the Eurovision topic, I did have to smile somewhat at reading Nigel Farage's attempt to turn it into a major political story:

This, from a politician who spends his whole life trying to be as rude about Europe as it's possible to be!

No. Britain doesn't do well in Eurovision because it enters rubbish songs and octagenarian singers.

No comment. I have huge problems with his political views anyway :)

We're going to play a game tonight; how far can we get a selected cover of the Armenian song around Europe on Youtube.

If any NP want to join us, you're welcome!

Good song, don't think Armenia will win. Don't know who will, but don't think Armenia. I still like Austria (which could well win) and Hungary (which is a great song but didn't really win over the arena) the best.

    Sorry CK.

You weren't tempted to go in and have a wander around? DD has gone in the past including camping for the weekend.

DD's ex has gone today so she has his horse and is happy. I have just seen her out riding the shared horse she has, they were on a bridle path inside the woods. The horse is very distinctive, an Appaloosa/TB so his spotted hind quarters were visible through the trees.

N'ah. Used to go if I wasn't competing, and worked it a couple of years. I've got no horses to shop for now. I wouldn't mind going again certainly, but its more fun with other really horsey people. Explaining everything to DH ( who hasn't seen much eventing bar tv coverage) would be fine. He'd hate lots of the dressage (different to how we do things, but still I like watching and learn a lot and other times remember why I wanted to follow a different path). I think its more fun when you go in a group. :D

Greece also, and possibly Romania. I could see both in charts (first general, second dance). We have picked 5 of the 6 same, though (only exception is Greece on my end)

Not this year, as will become apparent in few hours time.

Austria, Sweden (although I don't particularly like it, it will do well)

It's going to be a tense waiting game now, methinks. I know deep down we're going to do top 10, but I don't know how far above 10th, if that makes sense........

Most years, I only care we made it to the final, this year the bookies got my hopes up...

Um... greetings from not so sunny copenhagen. Graham Norton flew out on same plane as us, what a nice man! Welcome to the thread Miroslav. Apologies, a bit otherwise occupied at the moment.

    You live in Denmark?

I am not from UK originally but my homeland don't enter Eurovision anymore.

Graham Norton i've heard is a complete :rotfl:Glad you had a nicer experience.

Thanks for the welcome. Hope otherwise occupied isn't bad?

We've gone from being favorite to win, to being 4th this year, but I'm still holding out a little hope.

'We' is UK? Sorry, have to ask as it appears a few people from not the UK are here on this thread?

Viva is within few miles of me at the moment, but usually we live in the same county of England. Viva is also a Eurovision nut.

I live in UK now. 'We' is Armenia. I'm a PR professional, and am on the Armenian delegation at Eurovision Song Contest.

I am originally from Sukhumi, in Georgia (former USSR, not USA)

I always forget to multi-quote (see above!)

My (very uneductated) guess is that Graves is an auto-immune disease (your immune system starts attacking your own cells for some very non-understood reason). Antibodies are just one of the weapons of the immune system, and they can look for them in blood. Seeing as you've mentioned thyroid, I'd guess they'd look for antibodies directed against the thyroid gland/ things it produces.

Hope that makes some kind of sense, and more importantly that things go well for you.

I'm trying to multi quote but lose count after reading so many posts....1.....2......erm is this 3 or 4 :o

It is an auto immune disease - i've been given 5 sheets of paper with info, but I have been googling and googling isn't always a good idea :o

The big 'C' has also been mentioned. The problem is my Mum picked up the big 'C' when she was 39, i'm 38 next month...

Thank you, i'll know more about the results on Thursday - frustrating waiting. I'm on holiday for 8 days from Friday, so any bad news and i'll at least have no work for 8 days.

My faith in GP's is pretty low as it is...:o
No idea about the details, but I hope you get an answer soon and a course of treatment proposed.

Thanks. I want the treatment to start ASAP no matter how bad (or hopefully not as bad as feared)

The guy is a plank to be honest (I know we are meant to be nice, but...)
No, viva's from Herts, but is "posh" enough to have flown over there to see the Eurovision contest (I think that's why she's gone there).

Now, he IS an utter furrener - but lives close to the Herts border. However, he's something to do with some foreign country's Euro entry, so has been on the Euro circuit and travelling all over Europe in the last few months (as indicated by his "next stop" information in his signature), all leading up to tonight.... then he'll "come home". His "we" is his furren country interest, not the UK (I don't think) ... it is confusing.

The two, although currently at the same location, don't know each other and have never met.

... and some people sometimes wonder why I have to issue "posh alerts".

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I thought the signature was a holiday trip or something :o

    It sounds confusing :D

I know I said it before but Cascada were robbed last year (and yes, I love Natalie Horler) so it has been soured. Just as Ivi Adamou should have won for Cyprus....2? 3? years ago.

    Should.....or cold....or I wanted too...

Good luck tonight to Armenia :T

I've only heard the UK song - I never listen to the Semi Finals - so I go into tonight with a completely open mind!

Well, after work today I went to the Opticians.

First bit of good news i've had regarding my health in a while. It appears in the last couple of years my eyes have only got worse by a tiny bit and as much as the Optician would expect, so i've some new glasses on order for computer/tv etc that I don't need to wear when out and about and they come with some kind of anti glare and ultra violet or something - £145 in total inc a years insurance against damage.

My eyes overall are healthy aside from that, so I am very relieved.

It doesn't mean I don't have other health problems - clearly I do, but i'm taking todays results as a massive positive and i'll worry about Thursday, on Thursday.

Hey ho peeps, enjoy Eurovision if you are watching. Sorry I have not been catching up with the serious stuff - hope to do more of that tomorrow.

Have bumped into Norton several times last few days and was lovely all of them. Were at the same hotel as the Swiss entry who we met earlier today. I think the Spanish may be there too. The Spanish entry - Ruth Lorenzo - was in the X Factor here a few years ago.

Yes CK, went last night to jury final. Great fun! Were in the Rybak section - in front of Graham Norton's window but a few rows down. We had the VIP section to one side, the green room directly in front. Husband very happy at proximity to the hot Polish women. If anyone else is watching... you'll see what I mean shortly.

Yes, I am a Eurovision nut and I represent that remark. UK won't win, but song is popular - lots of people were singing it walking around Copenhagen last night singing it. But nothing is as popular as the Danish entry - which you hear absolutely everywhere. You even get free metro trips for singing it. Shooby doo be dup dup do do wah... Bruno Mars's Danish brother..

    Have fun!
