That's more or less what we wanted - 4 high, 2 wide, stacked on top of each other.

I know you've got very high ceilings, but are you really saying you want to end up with 8 high and 2 wide? How will you get the upper one up there? Won't it be wobbly? How will you reach the top shelves?

Good lord the 2 ducks strategically placed in the bathroom!

I don't like that bath at all. It looks as though the inside of it is tiled (ie uncomfortable to sit in if you end up with your bum on a grout line) and the edge is very sharp (ie not nice to lean your head and neck back against).
Is that the correct social protocol?

Yes. Or say nothing if the music bits of the thread go over your head.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I could search for/choose "beach style" curtains, which'd probably be at great expense.... or chuck these up and job done for£7

It's blue .... which is "hint of the sea" ..... :)

We have some natural cotton IKEA curtains hanging in our lounge. People think they cost hundreds because that is what they would pay for lounge curtains. All the pulls and imperfections are what people would pay £££ for in an expensive curtain shop, that comes as a free added extra from IKEA.

lir has posted what I wanted to say, only said better. Being single and wanting to find the right person is supposed to be exciting, but often it's just painful, or lonely. I hope someone comes along soon who's a good fit to who you are.

    Brilliantly put Lydia!

I said when moving in with OH that I only want to do this once, and however many years and 2 kids later, that's the way it's been.

There's someone for everyone Masomnia, and you didn't find that person yet.

Just woke up feeling sorry for myself. I'm sure normal service will be resumed tomorrow. Hopefully not too many of my colleagues will think I'm highly unstable!
Quite fancy moving into a modern flat ATM. Was going to go out this afternoon but have felt too unwell. Have to go to a meeting but am going out without makeup. This is pretty much the pits as far as I am concerned, not even a swipe of mascara.

I've done absolutely nothing today. I'm supposed to be shopping, cleaning, going for a run... Just want to sit in my room and feel sorry for myself :(

I'm going to try and have a shower in a bit, maybe that'll perk me up a bit. Might feel more like going out if I look presentable.

Dodgy hug for all of you: :grouphug:

Today is clearly a bad day for NP. :(

But sometimes it's good to take time to let the sadness happen, rather than pretend it's not there by covering it with a frantic concreting over of busyness.

Aren't swarms amazing, in a sort of scary way?

My parents have a couple of nests of honey bees round their place every year, and a beekeeper from a nearby villages who comes to collect extra swarms (a couple a year, usually). They are pretty intimidating!

Brilliant photo, Maggie! A hell of a lot closer than I'd have got to it, you're much braver than I am.

I've never seen a swarm before! Absolutely amazing! :j I'd be chuffed if we ever had another one - we could just go and knock on our neighbour's door now we know he's there! He said it was the first swarm he'd collected, so I think he was pretty pleased with himself. :)

As to getting close to the swarm.... My camera has a X40 zoom, so the photos were taken from inside the kitchen (just wish the windows were cleaner - we had the grandtwins round the day before ;) fingermarks! :o :rotfl: ). I do hope the bees like their new home, would have loved to see them all marching up into the hive!

LIR's advice is great -both you and Nik should have lovely clean bedlinen tonight, and cuddle up feeling post-bath and pampered.

You sound as though you are suggesting they should do this together. Is that what you intended?

Did you post that because it's the only pic of a cake on the MSE smiley list, or was that a subtle hint that it's your birthday and nobody remembered it?
    (curtains, not buckets or ovens).

For PN, ovenpride only costs about £4. and if you really want to save even more, you could use the bag with soapy water and re-use continually until your trays got so dirty you wanted an aggressive cleaner.

Though I like the idea that the thread is somewhere people don't have to be fearful to ask 'yet what?' If they want explanation. :)

Re bath edges Lydia, I think we've discussed this before? A rolled towel is the answer, though I think in a sitty uppy bath the comfort of lolling back is lesser. I think. I suffer discomfort well, I wouldn't be bothered by a grout line, I might even like the texture I think.

I just found out while typing this I have a call back to consultant about my results. I think I might hire a car, as PN suggested last time! as mine is in for servicing that day and the jalopies they give me are horrific. My heart is going ten to the dozen.......I know the reply is probably to be ...'more tests' over a number of months.

Oh yes. And it is, I think. I meant "... if the music bits of the thread go over your head and you're happy just letting them do so."
