We have two boxes full. Considering we are a fairly low electrical couple this staggered me, until I realised he was also hanging on to other people's chargers. :rotfl:

There were a couple of chargers here when I moved in. They are still on the side in the kitchen. I also found a mobile down the side of one of the armchairs. That is still here too.

And I have a collection of my old mobile phones (+ boxes) at my parents'.

    That's good, lir :)

Even if you don't have someone to sort, having someone to clean or feed or muck out etc would give you time to sort and then, when you feel sorted, it won't be overwhelming, because you won't have the sorting looming over you anymore.

At that point, there will be less to do (hopefully!)

An operation is a perfect excuse, but that will cover thigs that you can do now, it won't improve the situation for you.

SIL and husband have a housekeeper and a gardener. Like you, he works in London most of the week, she's at work all the time, they have a big rambling old house and an inordinate number of objects. Neither of them is poorly, there are only two of them, I don't even think they make a mess, they're not cooks, the house is not a project (although I'd like them to keep on top of it a little more) and, get this, they have no sorting to do!

Do the things that you love and some sorting. Let someone else do the rest for a bit, until you are okay. You aren't okay right now, and I'm sure most people who have cleaners etc are okay. Maybe they wouldn't be okay if they didn't, who cares. You deserve someone to help you.

I will get paid help if I have surgery certainly. Good excuse. ATM, though it wouldn't be fair because I do not believe its fair to ask someone to sort out stuff, only to clean. Unless you actually have a daily or housekeeper a cleaner shouldn't have to and cannot effectively sort and bish.

What you try and cram into a day leaves me feeling exhausted. Even without your health issues you should consider having a cleaner.

It is far easier to be in the routine of tidying up because the cleaner is due, than a routine of tidying and cleaning yourself. At least when the cleaner is due you can't procrastinate and delay til tomorrow.

Even my messy kids understand that the cleaner arriving means that rooms need to be tidy before hand.

Expect a posh alert from PN, those boxes would be made of cardboard in anyone else's home.

I sat part one of the Behavioural Economics exam tonight. I don't know why considering I have absolutely nothing riding on it other than a bit of time and pride, but I was a bit nervous. Thankfully it was pretty straightforward and took about 20 mins of the two hours allowed. Phew.
Right now I'm trying to psyche myself up!

If I have a long term home help it means less money for the progression fund. :(. Not sure how I feel about that pay off.

Almost done, four becomes one. Sounds fun.

ATM I am doing hardly any horses. Not daily. Twice a week is the idea, with twice daily check.

I have also told clients this summer that they are paying for DIY and so they have to be DIY with very few exceptions for the time being. It's been a difficult time for them to lump them with it but......tough. I recognise that there is a limit.

Big dog is not going to be a round much longer, which though sad , like old horse, is not sad in a sort of 'before her time' way, and leaves us with a more manageable two dogs, whose needs are more comparable and who are easier in the house, and who have slightly less aged bladders, so I am not bereft about this, though sad obviously.

I also have not bred any birdsirposely for a year or so. I have fewer than a dozen now, I do have one who has slunk off into a bush to sit, but I think she only has a small clutch, I can probably rehome them to a friend of necessary.

This week a neighbour stopped by to offer me a broody coop he no longer needs and I said, nope, because I no longer breed birds I shouldn't need more housing, and if I have it its going to tempt me. So I think its really sunk in this time that I am feeling less indestructible ( indestructible has become a big joke for DH and I but its feeling a bit hollow , like it did a couple of summers ago. That said, look, it was no big deal in the end two years ago, so all this is probably a storm on a teacup too. :). Which is also a bit embarrassing, :rotfl:

Edit: I am actually doing less than done at any time not vegetative I think!,

    Bowls news.
I took over being the captain this year. Owing to a few issues, we've had 1 or 2 players leave. We did have more, but 2 have come back.
I took over, as our captain drinks like the proverbial fish, & also had favourites, so some people kept getting left out of the team for no good reason, & it was very demoralising. One did say he wasn't playing this year (but called me when he'd found out I was captain to say he did want to play, just not for him...)

Anyways, there are always 2 cup games at the beginning. We got knocked out of both cups. Old captain was on holiday & asked how we got on, & when told said "ah well, it was always going to be tough" (which made me curse in a very NSFW way).
Anyway, we played our first league match & afterwards were top of the league! 2nd league match yesterday, & we won that too, so possibly still top!
In fairness, we did play one of the weaker teams. However, I feel a certain sense of something.
What has pleased me, is how supportive others have been.

My issue now though, is how to balance the people who do play & don't. If no-one is away, I have to leave 3 players out.

My rule, is if you lose 2 games in a row, then you miss the next game. I kinda want to mix it up a little more than that though if possible (without wanting my players to lose or become dis-illusioned by missing too many games).

What is it with the lack of forecast rain? I think I'm going to have to battle the dodgy garage door (again) and take the lawnmower for a tour of the back garden now...
