Most of the walls are now white, eventually they will all be the woodwork is one times left, eventually all the doors should be unpainted wood.
Now, I like carpets (although not in kitchens and bathrooms etc) and I like coloured walls, but I am with you on the unpainted wood. The doors here are painted wood, and I'll probably leave them that way, but I like having unpainted wood elsewhere - kitchen unit doors, tables, bookcases, drawers, wardrobes etc.
If my dad ever goes actually ahead with his plan to downsize into a sheltered flat (which he *says* he wants to do this year) then I'll probably be getting loads more lovely wood furniture, some of it quite old and very beautiful. We were going through a short spell of bad luck (except work) recently. For a couple of weeks, it seemed anything that could go wrong was going wrong, and that was before MiL's sudden death.
Nothing for it except to plod along and things will be sorted in time.
So sorry to hear that sss. Hugs (if you accept cyberhugs!)Doozergirl wrote: »I was torn between that and the handheld Dyson. In retrospect, the dyson would do my stairs easily and conwebs etc. so I wish I'd bought that.
I have been wondering about a handheld Dyson. If any NP get one, I'd love to hear how they get on with it, please.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? I was reading reviews about these steam cleaners. I still can't decide, having managed all my life without one, do I need one now?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Interesting. Thanks. What's the deal with the battery? Do you have to keep recharging it? Or can you use it plugged in if you're not on the stairs?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? I have a seriously ancient vax hot water carpet cleaner. I got it off freecycle several years ago. It is hard work to use - you have to push down on the handheld bit and rub hard on the carpet, and go over each bit multiple times to get the best results - but it does make a dramatic difference to the carpet colour. I might try to get some kind of steam/wet carpet cleaner that would be less labour intensive as part of my post-settlement splurge.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? It wasn't a Gtech AirRam by any chance, are they any good?
I was considering buying one, but the fact I have a very serviceable Miele is making it hard to justify.
Sorry to hear about your MiL.lostinrates wrote: »Jam....
I am a jam !!!!!. Has to be the right one for the mood.
. Best jam memo more...a friends mothers bramble jelly that was underset and she was upset. I prefer underset jam and jelly, vastly. Something with the ooze factor.
I don't like many flavours. Strawberry blueberry and for marmalade I like ginger in it. Mentioned some threads back about cloudberry jam being heavenly.;)There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Phew! Finally caught up.
Went to my parent's caravan for a few days and what a busy few days that was! Lots of running around and then back last night in time for a gig.
Got some amazing stats from my site - On Friday there was nearly 335k views and over the last 30 days, there has been over 2.7 million views, amazing stuff! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

What a fantastic site. So much to read. This will keep me entertained for the rest of the day.
Great to hear that Pump 2 is working so well today...Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

Lydia, as soon as DH saw them walking out he went to call them back and they came running back. They are all mouth and no trousers really.
Its so warm I'm really struggling outside now.. We've achieved our first ambition so I'm changing in to the dreadful shorts before tackling next one again.
Its reached stage in day when I will be mainly cheering DH on though I think..
Really chuffed. The logs we thought were two more weekends work are gone, After four years we have finally moved them all inside.
Well, all the leylandi.
Now we have the oak and plums to start on.. Less pressing though, really. We have reclaimed the back garden
. We have some flag stones from the kitchen to decide how to lay for best use and then we are REALLY getting somewhere.
So this week, I could start painting the garden fence. This seems less appealing. Its not short, and I'll probably break it down in to chunks of a panel a day, which seems a little silly. But it won't break my body that way. I also have some wall painting to do. But will need DH here for that, because he'll have to do the bits up the scaffold tower..
Its not as long as the last wall we painted, I think its about 42 metres long. But its quite high. It needs the scaffold tower not a ladder because its a lot of asbestos on the top bit, so won't lean on it just in case, but the ground is very wet by it, so its going to be a bit of a pain to set up I think.0
