Good friday, followed by weekend, bank holiday monday, concessionary day (your taxes are well spent, thank you...) 3 paid annual leave days, weekend!

    Lots of packing time...

    Not my taxes.

I was speaking to an ex-au pair at the weekend. Because she has to suffer the indignity of working a 37.5 hour week as a graduate trainee corporate lawyer she gets a day off every month.

I think most corporate lawyers have done 37.5 hours by Tuesday evening!
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

Sometimes they do that in a weekend .

DH got shunted out of his Paris seat by a girl whose father was supposedly dying in Paris. Miraculously when she finished her seat and was ready to come back to London he recovered, by which time DH was not in a position to go to Paris as was qualifying into a heavy work load.

    Anyway,

I have been browsing clothes on line and found this review of a suit which could have been written by me. It sounds itchy
I saw this garment and immediately ordered as I had been looking for a linen suit like this one. A pity it is nit lined but love the fut

!! Like one of those hair shirts medieval monks sometimes wore to chastise the sinful flesh.

    I'm still chuckling about it.

I think henceforth all unlined items shall have to be refereed to as nit lined. ( with or without good fut).

DH has a nit lined linen jacket I cannot stand. It makes him look as if he has no shoulders at all, which is not true. I shall see if I can convince him to donate it to the Salvation Army,

Thanks to all those people who said nice things to me; and good luck to Doozergirl - I'm sure you're doing just fine, just get back on the wagon.

Bugslet - you got a healthier driver AND paid less expenses. How cool is that?

Today I have been mostly weeding. There's a lot of weeds to dig up, and not enough time to do it.

I have just discovered the JOY of ordering dh's food for him on his work acc. That's not going to get boring quickly, he has no idea what he is getting for supper.

( he obviously knows I've done it as had to let me in to the acc and give me codes) he thinks its really funny. He is going to be at work till really late and is missing the gym result.
