I'm so sorry, what with work and running around after MIL, I can't keep up with all these posts! :(

170-odd posts, and the new thread only started a day or so ago.

I think most of the posts yesterday were me whinging about my boiler not working and not having any chocolate in the house. The boiler now seems to be behaving (as well as it ever has), and I bought a rather lovely pastry (and a radiator key) this evening, so I am not so whiney.

    :)

Hello GDB, how are things? How are you?

I feel quite privileged and a bit nervous about our special visit from foundinrates :). It's like having a pop star come to school assembly !

That's (the puppy) what I feel like a lot of the time!

Do you often try to steal toy pheasants from passing border collies, Nik?

I can't begin to tell you how much that picture made me laugh. You know that's going to be the puppy in the park that goes up to all the big dogs and barks "come and have a go if you think you're tough enough". There's always one.

I own one of those. But he's two years old...

Only on days ending in y :)

I don't think I've ever met a passing border collie with a toy pheasant!

I do often feel like I'm very small and have bitten off far more than I can chew though :)

Just imagine what it would've been like had LIR got internet access!

At least we know she's well. Guess FIR couldn't remember his log in details...

I'll never forget he popped on a NP thread to drag her off for the night!:D Dunno if she was too engaged with the thread, but fir pops in & says "off you, sorry folks, she's mine for the night". LIR (whilst probably sat next to him|) posts "eek! Is that you?":D

I've just had one of those penny drops moments. They're sdiscussing photographs of WW1, and described a phto of Tommies (British soldiers and Jerries (Germnan soldiers) shaking hands.
When I was growing up one of the most populoar cartoons were a pair of fighting animals Tom and Jerry, natural enemies - wonder if they were names after the Brits and Germans.
Also wondering if I'm the last person in the world to have learned this!
